Nettes Dorf
I live on the Esplanade. Great views and sunsets.
The beach actually lost a lot of sand during the storms. Children love digging in it and come from all over to do just that.
On a sunny day you can walk for miles towards Weston super mare and catch the bus back.
Visited over the bank holiday, not at all crowded, only busy around the pier (v. small with arcades and food outlets). Walked along the promenade towards the lighthouse ( small wooden structure rather than a traditional type lighthouse). Here dogs are allowed on the beach all year round. Locals leave dog bowls with water on the pavement near the entrance to this part of the beach. Wide flat expanse of fine sand, great for walking or flying a kite. Nice ice cream from the kiosk on the pier on the way back.
The Beach was lovely for the kids in the sun to play on and in but you can't swim of the beach due to the very wet deep mud and the river which tracks from left to right across the whole beach near the town. Best spot is north of the town where the sand is better and the river bends away to the sea.
What a lovely clean traditional seaside resort...small but perfectly formed!
Lovely walk along the prom to the sand dunes and both lighthouses. Stopping for lunch at the "Front Parlour" with a great view of the tide rushing in.
