Awesome chippy!
Been a few years since I last visited and still very much the same. Traditional style eat-in fish and chips, or takeaway. Majority of food is cooked to order, so fresh and on the spot, served hot and delicious. Prices are reasonable and located short walk off the town centre, and temptingly in reach of the town's bus station. Out of hours there is free on street parking. Well worth a chip supper.
I brought a meal deal for £9.25 let me jus say I feel robbed. Bacon double cheeseburger was good I can't fault the burger.
Chip are awful can't believe they sell frozen chips and not make there own, 1st chip shop I known to not cut there own chips. Chips was less than a small portion, I believe I was really disappointed burger chips and a drink I thought good deal. On that note I would never eat chips from here again absolutely gutted!
Buckles cooks your order on arrival so there can be a bit of a wait if they're busy, but the food is hot, freshly made and very tasty. Traditional chippy fare but nicely done. The staff are polite and efficient, and there is a dine in option.
18.03.2022 orderes fish and chips for 3 tonight, very disappointing. The batter us normally very light but on this occasion there was so much batter and not a lot of fish. The order was noticeably very light in weight which confirmed the lack of fish.
Ooh! That was lovely. My first gluten free f and c and was ready in 10 minutes from my phone order. Delicious!
Cod was lovely light crisp batter, frozen chips tho, that was a bit of a let down but it was hot and tasty
Food came relatively quickly. The staff are young but very good but the fish in batter was very greasy this time.
Excellent gluten free options for my daughter who has coeliacs. Staff are very friendly and helpful.
