We ordered fish and chips. The chips were very very thick and could have stayed a bit longer in the Deep fryer. The fish was fresh and ok so far.
The saddest and annoying thing is that it’s served in foamed up plastic with plastic cutlery although we stayed outside. Why not serving on plates?
The tables outside could have been cleaned better.
Sadly a real fast food restaurant.
The man with grey beard running the shop was so very rude.
He asked me where I am from and that I can’t have lived here long as I’m stupid, because I simply asked the difference in size between a small and large chips.
This was very unkind considering I asked a very logical and simple question that I’m guessing he did not know how to answer,
so he said I must be stupid to not know how big a small and large chips was.
Even the other gentleman working with him looked on shocked at his behaviour and his rudeness. People do not deserve this type of behaviour when they have been polite and simply asked a question.
It’s not my fault he did not know how to explain how big or small the portions were,
I would have even been happy with interpretative dance, but sadly I was expecting too much.
Chip portions vary from shop to shop and I was simply inquiring.
Felt the man had a serious bee in his bonnet for no reason.
As for the food I feel business must have been slow as the food was obviously sitting for a long time before sold. Yuck.
-100/10 overall score.
Sorry but not happy... nothing to do with the food but with false advertising. They have massive flashy sign saying... fish &chips £7.50 ... in reality they charge this for fish only ... small chips are £2.50 ... so it's £10 for fish and chips
Food is really clean and nice but pls listen to customer requests. Feel really frustrated and unhappy coming away today with my food as the server was not listening to my requests and so i didn't get what I asked for and didn't feel comfortable to repeat the changes.
The food is great but just be really clear when placing your order.
I hope I have a better experience next time.
Nice fish and chips prefer smaller portions so small cod and chips on special please far too much food for a woman chips cut too thick and waited ages try having some fish and chips already done was there waiting for 15 mins. But enjoyed the food.
A great local fish and chip shop. The prices are reasonable (especially the special offer for large cod and chips) and the staff are friendly and service quick. The chips are especially good - a little crispy but just right. There's also regular special offers, usually lasting a week, that are worth a look.
Every time I go here, the quality of the food is champions league !! the best of the best. And the staff are great too,you might have a short wait, but good things come to those who wait.
Fresh food, had a burger and one piece of chicken.
Man was friendly, and place looked clean.
Good prices.

Quick Facts About Blue Sea Fish Bar

Blue Sea Fish Bar has both strengths and weaknesses based on the comments provided. Starting with the strengths, it is evident that the fish served at the restaurant is fresh and of good quality. Additionally, the chips are described as being "nice" and "especially good," with a crispy texture that is well-received. The prices at Blue Sea Fish Bar are also seen as reasonable, with special offers available for large cod and chips. The staff members are generally friendly and provide quick service, according to some reviewers.
However, there are also several weaknesses that should be addressed. One recurring complaint is the use of foam and plastic packaging, even for customers dining outside. This is seen as unnecessary and contributes to environmental waste. The cleanliness of the outdoor tables is also mentioned as an issue, suggesting that the restaurant could improve its sanitation practices.
One significant weakness highlighted in the comments is the rude behavior of the man with a grey beard running the shop. Accused of being unkind and rude to a customer, he insulted them when they asked a simple question about the difference in size between the small and large chips. His behavior is described as unacceptable and unwarranted, leaving a negative impression on the customer. The fact that even the other staff member was taken aback by his behavior suggests that it is not an isolated incident.
Another shortcoming mentioned is the lack of clarity when placing an order. Some customers report not receiving the correct items or having their requests ignored, which leads to frustration and dissatisfaction. Clear communication between the staff and customers is crucial to ensure a positive dining experience.
There is also a complaint about the food sitting for a long time before being sold, resulting in a subpar taste. This suggests that the restaurant may need to work on its efficiency and ensure that food is served fresh and promptly.
Lastly, there is a comment about false advertising, as the customer felt misled by the signage advertising fish and chips for £7.50 when the actual price was £10. Clarifying pricing and being transparent with customers is vital to avoid misunderstandings and disappointment.
In conclusion, while Blue Sea Fish Bar has strengths such as fresh fish, good quality chips, reasonable prices, and friendly staff, there are significant weaknesses that need to be addressed. These include the use of excessive plastic packaging, cleanliness issues, rude behavior from a staff member, incorrect orders, food sitting for too long, and misleading advertising. By addressing these weaknesses and improving customer service and communication, Blue Sea Fish Bar can strive to provide a better overall experience for its customers.
