My friend recommended this place to me and I wanted to see what it was about. Great service for such amazing prices. I got my haircut by Reta and I will definitely be recommending everyone I know to Betty’s & Nick’s. I got a wonderful wash, cut & blow out for less than half of what I’d pay at my usual place. 10/10!!! Also, don’t forget to leave these wonderful people a tip. Well worth it. Thank you Reta!
This is my second haircut at Betty and nick's, but I have been given extraordinary courtesy and care and a good haircut. The courtesy and Care is a recognition by everyone at Betty and nick's, that as a handicap person, I need a little door opening help , help with lifting this or that, or maybe a little extra time to get ordinary things done that ordinary people wouldn't need. The staff and even some of the customers help me with all of this, and I thank them. Other shops closer to me put a lot of appointment- making nonsense between me and getting a haircut. Betty and Nick's does not require appointments and they have handicapped parking on their lot.

I love this place of hair salon. My son had his first clippings here and since then he is also a fan of Jay, who retired. They are friendly, little to none wait time, more than two dozen seats, hair dressers. Most economical rate in town! On site ATM machine, parkings available.
Been going here for YEARS and YEARS!!! I always go to Nina, and she does a wonderful job!!! Takes her time and does it properly! Highly recommended!
$10 for men's haircut as of June 12, 2020. Mid to high fades are $10 and a low fade or taper is $15.
Parking was much easier at this Skokie location off of Oakton & Crawford. I walked in for the first time at this location (usual customer at Montrose/Kimball location), and I waited no longer than 7 min to be taken. Louie #12 took me and was polite. He took the time to ask what I wanted and explained differences in price. He didn't talk too much while cutting my hair and not too little either. He focused well and finished within 15 min. I liked my cut and I'm happy with the value.
First off the quality of the actual haircut is fine, no problem with that. I would also say most of the staff is great. I have been coming to this place for five years. Today was probably the last time I would go to this place for a while though, because a barber there refused to cut my hair. He said I didn't tip him the last time I came. I have no problem in tipping if asked to, quite honestly I don't even remember if I did or didn't tip him last time I came which was probably 4 months ago. It is fine, I believe him, maybe I actually forgot to tip or didn't have enough money at the time. My problem is that no where in their store is it made clear that the barbers work off tips, all it says is that the price of the hair cut is 10 dollars. So I never knew that these barbers live off tips. Had I known this, I would've definitely tipped every time - this was a very rare situation and I usually tip. I am fine with him declining to cut my hair but the way he did it came off very arrogant and condescending, as if he expects that I should be aware of this. This is the reason for me leaving this review. If you still choose to go to this place then make sure you tip your barber lest they also refuse to cut your hair the next time around.
Nina is the best!!! She gives $100 salon quality haircuts for only $10.00. I trust no one but her. Top quality!!!
