Amazing pub that has been part of my family social life for over 50 years. My mam and dad did their courting days in this pub and enjoyed lots of social occasions over the years. The karaoke is brilliant and the pub is always packed. The Landlady Andrea makes everyone feel welcome and the Anchor family looks after everyone. I would have no problem going into this pub on my own and would be made to feel welcome. A total 5* pub and will always be the 1st pub I go to when I go out into town. Just love it. ❤️.

Favourite pub in town. Fab atmosphere, recent renovation. good selection of drinks, karaoke at the weekends. always made welcome by Andrea & staff. Wouldn’t be a night out without a visit to the anchor ❤️

Over the years it's been hit n miss.but for the past 3 yrs since Andrea took over the anchor has just got better.clean n tidy pub and nice fresh tasting pints.
