Busy Place. quick service.
Food smells fantastic....
Got home and unwrapped.
Very nice. Enjoyed the flavours and different colours in the Chinese food. Chicken and Mushroom stir fry very nice. Lemon chicken. (chicken with lemon) is and will always be my favourite..
4 star food rating on front door..
Busy road and parking can be difficult at times. Shop front could do with improving, pictures on google do not do the food justice.
Overall a nice Chinese meal, with shop screening in place and face masks worn servicing customers...
I'll be back...
Thanks for a great Saturday night meal...
Always a fantastic meal... repeat customers... ive eaten Chinese all over the country and this is one of the best takeaways I've had! We regularly order for the office and will do 20-30 orders in one night! Highly recommend!
First time for us and everything we ordered was piping hot, plentiful and really delicious, we will definitely use again.
Ive been getting my Chinese takeaway from Zen for more than ten years now and, especially compared to the dismal offerings elsewhere in town, the food here is always colourful, tasty, fresh and delicious. Always perfectly prepared and they will even take requests within reason - i always ask them to debone and shred the Crispy Duck (which is superb) for me, which they do without hesitation. Soups are great, especially the Hot & Sour. Pancake rolls are enormous and packed with beansprouts, shrimp and Char Sui. The House Special Fried rice is a high point - a large container of tasty rice under thick layer of Char Sui, beef, chicken, king prawns and mixed vegetables in a tasty sauce. Singapore chow mein is fragrant and slightly spicy, their Beef in Oyster Sauce is a perfect example of umami at work and that old classic, chicken chow mein, is still executed wonderfully, a balance of tender chicken, beansprouts (that still have a little crunch) and noodles, a hint of garlic and translucent, caramelised onions. I cant say enough good things about Zen - possibly my favourite takeaway, ever. Oh...the staff are always consistently friendly, polite and keen to try to accomodate any requests you might have, although Nicholas is very missed! ????
Edit - please note that they don’t currently deliver, although they are affiliated to Ubereats and they currently only accept cash. There’s a cash machine in the corner shop a few doors up, if you get caught out, which is open until 8pm, I think.
Very poor.ordered chick and beef curry and a beef curry, prawn toast and 2 spring rolls.got chick and beef curry and chick curry? Prawn toast was very hard.couldnt eat.spring rolls ok.
Great value. But cash payment only
Man serving had greasy hair and looked unclean, was rude and more obsessed with his phone than the customers. The waiting area was filthy dirty, shabby and in disrepair. As for the food it was just disgusting. We are not from this area and can not understand how this business has survived in this lovely village. If I lived locally I would encourage everyone to boycott this disgusting food outlet.
Great food the first time, second time Web page said open, went to shop looked like closed down

Quick Facts About Zen Chinese Takeaway

Strengths:
1. Busy place and quick service: The fact that the place is always busy indicates that they have a steady customer base and are able to serve customers quickly. This shows that they are efficient and can handle a high volume of orders.
2. Fantastic food smells: The comment about the food smelling fantastic suggests that the aroma of the dishes is enticing and appetizing. This can be a strong draw for potential customers and make them want to try the food.
3. Positive food rating: The 4-star food rating on the front door is a testament to the quality of the food. This rating can help build trust and confidence in potential customers who may be unsure about trying a new Chinese takeaway.
4. Repeat customers and recommendations: The comment about being a fantastic meal and having repeat customers who regularly order for the office indicates that the food is consistently good. Word-of-mouth recommendations are powerful in attracting new customers.
5. Ability to accommodate requests: The mention of the staff being willing to accommodate requests, such as deboning and shredding the Crispy Duck, shows that they are flexible and willing to go the extra mile to satisfy their customers.
6. Great value: The mention of the takeaway being great value suggests that the prices are reasonable and customers feel like they are getting their money's worth.
Weaknesses:
1. Difficult parking and shop front in need of improvement: The comment about parking difficulties and the shop front needing improvement suggests that the location and storefront may be a disadvantage. If customers struggle to find parking or if the shop front is uninviting, it may deter potential customers from choosing Zen Chinese Takeaway.
2. Mixed review on food quality: While most of the comments praise the food, there is one comment that mentions poor quality. This suggests that there may be inconsistency in the food quality, which can be a weakness for any restaurant.
3. Cash payment only: The comment about accepting only cash can be a disadvantage in today's society where electronic payments are widely used. This may inconvenience customers who do not carry cash and could potentially lead to lost sales.
4. Unclean and rude staff: The negative comment about the staff's appearance, behavior, and the cleanliness of the waiting area indicates a lack of professionalism and hygiene. This can severely impact the reputation of the restaurant and drive potential customers away.
5. Inaccurate website information: The comment about the website stating that the restaurant is open, but it appearing closed suggests a lack of attention to detail or poor communication. This can lead to customer dissatisfaction and frustration.
In conclusion, Zen Chinese Takeaway has several strengths, including a busy place with quick service, fantastic food smells, positive food ratings, repeat customers, and the ability to accommodate requests. However, there are notable weaknesses such as parking difficulties, a need for improvement in shop front, mixed reviews on food quality, cash payment only, unclean and rude staff, as well as inaccurate website information. It is important for the restaurant to address these weaknesses and continue to build on their strengths to provide a consistently high-quality dining experience for their customers.
