Tried chicken and beef sushi for the first time in Australia yeeeeaars ago (yes cooked meat and no not together lol) as you can get it literally everywhere and so cheap and great quality
I've been coming in here for the chicken sushi for years
It's always freshly made, delicious and well presented with the wasabi, pickled ginger and soy sauce
Tried some of the gyoza too and again delicious they offered to heat them up too
Staff are friendly
Highly recommended
Will need to try some of the hot meals sometime
Really nice little bento, food is amazing and always filling. A little expensive for what it is but really good quality, there is a £10 minimum spend for card which is a little annoying if you want to go by yourself but a really nice little place to go as a couple or group. There is little indoor seating but a fair amount outdoor. And servers are really nice, and understanding when you mishear them like I normally do.
It is a very inexpensive place where you will get good food. For £6 you can have a main dish that will keep you going for some hours. The Japanese chef knows what he is doing. The food is not fatty at all, including the different types of noodles. The amount of food you get is very generous. The waiters are very helpful and attentive, in less than 30 seconds you will have whatever you have asked for. I got good food recommendations from them. I normally ask for the most popular/ordered items. Desserts are not house made, so nothing special in this section. As long as you are not very hungry, you will feel satisfied after eating here. There are no prearranged daily meals so a la carta is the way forward. The restaurant is located in town centre. It is not easy to get there by car, just park in the Grosvenor shopping centre, it is for free on weekends all day long and the first two hours on weekdays. They don't serve any alcohol in the bar. They offer some truly Japanese food and some adapted Japanese food to match what the fish and chips locals like. Small plates can be ordered. It is a small place, ten people can be eating at the same time. No toilets are available, go to the Grosvenor shopping centre for that. Some outdoor seating for smokers. The lunch shift starts when they open and finishes when they close. No pressure at all from them to have a drink, they are happy if you just order food. No breakfasts served here.
Awesome service, amazing food!! The teriyaki is so full of flavour, the beef stew literally melts in your mouth!! Generous portions! Definitely coming back!
A useful tip: only accept cash! So keep some on you :)
I had the sushi and it was really good and potions were just right which is nice. My girlfriend had the sweet chilli chicken which was sweet and a little chilli although the noodles lacked flavour, would of been nice with a sauce to match the dish. Overall really nice and wish I had the place in my town, would go often
Been going here for a few years and the food is always good. Sushi a little basic, but perfectly OK if a little over priced, Hot selection similar but never had any issues with anything. Great staff who take care of food hygiene and clean environment. Service is always polite and now they take cards so no complaints. All good!
So tasty and such amazing portions as well, my friends and I were just watching her prep our order and we couldn't believe how generous she was with each portion. The katsu chicken curry was really tasty and fresh, warm and slightly spicy. Rice was perfectly cooked- soft and sticky. People review saying its a basic menu but why need anything complicated when what they offer is perfect? Would hundred percent reccomend a visit and good for the budget too.
Chicken Katsu Curry, Chilli Chicken with rice is my go to! It’s the best. Chicken gyros and chicken sushi are to die for! Love this place but little on the expensive side.

Quick Facts About YoKoSo Sushi & Bento

YoKoSo Sushi & Bento has several strengths based on the comments provided. Firstly, customers appreciate the variety and quality of the food. The restaurant offers a range of options, including chicken and beef sushi, gyoza, and bento boxes. The food is described as delicious and well-presented, with generous portions. The chef is praised for his knowledge and skill in preparing the dishes.
Additionally, the staff at YoKoSo Sushi & Bento receive positive feedback. Customers mention that the servers are friendly, helpful, and attentive. They provide quick service, with orders being fulfilled promptly. The staff also offer recommendations for popular food choices, ensuring that customers have a satisfying dining experience.
The affordability of the restaurant is another strength. Customers note that the prices at YoKoSo Sushi & Bento are reasonable, particularly considering the quality and portion sizes of the food. Many mention that the restaurant offers good value for money, with main dishes priced at around £6 and being sufficient to keep them full for hours.
The cleanliness and hygiene of the establishment are also praised. Customers appreciate the clean environment and the efforts made by the staff to ensure food safety and hygiene standards. This adds to the overall positive dining experience at YoKoSo Sushi & Bento.
However, there are a few weaknesses mentioned in the comments. One customer notes that the restaurant has a £10 minimum spend for card payments, which they find a little annoying when dining alone. This could inconvenience customers who may not want to spend that much or prefer the convenience of using cards for smaller transactions.
Another comment mentions that the noodles in a particular dish lacked flavor and would have been better with a suitable sauce. While this seems to be an isolated incident, it indicates that some dishes may have room for improvement in terms of taste and flavor combinations.
Furthermore, the limited seating capacity is mentioned. The restaurant can accommodate only around ten people at a time, making it less suitable for larger groups or during busy times. However, outdoor seating is available, which may help alleviate the issue during favorable weather conditions.
Some customers also express disappointment that the restaurant does not serve alcohol. This could be seen as a drawback for those looking to enjoy Japanese cuisine with accompanying drinks.
Lastly, one comment suggests that YoKoSo Sushi & Bento does not offer prearranged daily meals or breakfast options, limiting the dining choices for some customers. However, given the positive feedback on the a la carte menu, this may not be a significant weakness for most.
In conclusion, YoKoSo Sushi & Bento has several strengths, including a variety and quality of food, friendly staff, affordability, food hygiene practices, and cleanliness. However, the minimum spend for card payments, limited seating, limited beverage options, and lack of prearranged daily meals or breakfasts can be seen as minor weaknesses. Overall, the restaurant receives positive reviews and recommendations from customers.
