This salon is one of the best in the area for Ethnic hair even all the way to hair that goes 1A. Wendy doesn’t speak a crazy amount of English but she’s very thorough, and as most hair salons are very chill and laid back. I’ve never felt discriminated against and I’ve always been comfortable every time I go and I only understand Spanish. They never talk bad about a client to their face or say anything rude about clients.
DO NOT go to this place. I have been to many Dominican salons and never have I ever experienced poor quality like here. I went in to dye my hair to jet black from a brown. I was left under the dye treatment for an hour and 30 minutes. I have dyed my hair before and it has never taken that long. Weeks after my hair dye I began to notice the color dye was still in my hair months after. Then I started to experience hair loss. Every-time I take a shower I have a-lot of hair shedding which I know cannot be normal. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL. They do not know how to dye your hair properly.
Wendy is an excellent hair stylist and a very friendly person. Her staff are very courteous. She is truly what being a professional Dominican stylist is all about, I give her an 5 stars. Be sure to go there for all your hair needs. By the way, she does braids too, for those interested in getting there hair done.
I have been going to Wendy for months and although she doesn't have the best customer service, she does great work. Yesterday I went in to get my regular wash & blowout and a new girl was there with her. She did my wash/conditioner and roller set. I felt as though she did not wash my hair good and when she went to do my deep conditioning, she did not use the amount that Wendy normally does. I have THICK hair so I need a little extra conditioner to cover everything. When Wendy went to do my blowout, dandruff was literally falling on my shoulders and in my lap. I told Wendy and she just told me to put some coconut oil in my hair once I got home. I let her know about the conditioning situation and she got very offensive and told me that her prices are firm. I politely explained to her that I was a faithful costumer who never complained and was just unhappy with this visit but she did not want to hear it. My feelings were really hurt because I did not want a discount, I just wanted her to understand that I wasn't happy with this visit! It upsets me that she's the owner and I can't talk to someone above her but I've been going there for 6 months and I must say she just lost a faithful customer.
