The shop is very clean, tidy and modern looking! The food was very delicious and big portions too!! Staff very friendly.

Best battered sausage in the area - batter is lovely and crispy, recommend 1 1/2 per person. Great chips too. Small chips is plenty for 2 people.

We've been coming here now for a few weeks in the week because they have senior fish and chips for £5.50, this is the cheapest anywhere. All freshly cooked while you wait. Absolutely lovely fish and a good portion of chips. Would highly recommend this place. The only thing, wished they opened at 11.30 am. The senior meal is enough for us two.

Definitely going back

I visited Vics Fish Bar a week ago last Monday, my order cost me over £43. I was treating my family. I ordered 3 large cod, which when I got home they had been cooked so long the fish had dried up inside and the batter was too hard to cut. The double burger with cheese when I got it home it was only one burger, it was so squashed that it looked more like a happy meal from McDonald’s but worse. The staff were all youngsters training they had obviously given by double burger to someone else, they took so long to get the order ready that it was all cold when I got home. I telephoned as soon as I got home to complain but was told that the fish goes by weight, what fish there was none inside the batter, and I was told that he had cooked my two burgers himself but I never got both. There was no real apology and no mention of any compensation. The best thing for Vics chip shop is get some staff who know what they are doing. The whole meal was ruined, and I certainly will not be spending any more money in that place. I shall be telling other people who go there not to bother.

The fish and chips were absolutely awful, the fish was dry and over cooked and the chips were just a shrivelled cooked twice mess.I have pictures and videos of this mess unfortunately I can't add it to this review. Maybe it's not a good time to go in there after 8pm

Another visit , this time to purchase sausages and chips.

Same quality and service as previous visits. Many items are cooked to order.

If this standard is maintained , it must become one of the best in the area.

Order was for portion of chips ( excellent size) and two battered sausages.

This was enough for two people with smaller appetites.

Always excellent, love the fact that they remove the skin from the fish, best fish & chips around

Ordered large cod and small chips £10.20 tasted like hake and chips at half price .won't go back ..the fish was small in size and tasted not good .
