So, finally after years of going on and off to Topo Gigio a review!

I hadn't been here for a number of years but Sunday lunch with family and friends was a good way to reconnect with the restaurant.

As always the service was on point, attentive, not too invasive and all the staff were very friendly!

I decided to go for the £16.95 3 course set menú and I wasn't disappointed!

It was pretty much as I remember it...tried and tested, with a good variety of dishes for all to enjoy!

I had the bresaola as a starter and it was very nice, the cured beef was moist and had a hint of sweetness to it and along with the salad and shaved parmiggiano and a squeeze of lemon went down very well to start the meal off!

As for a main I had claves liver with sage an butter...very tasty and melt in the mouth.

It came with green beans, battered and fried courgettes and sliced roast potatoes all served in oval dishes so you could help yourself. The spuds were on point and the courgettes crunchy and light...the beans were nice and tender. A lovely and not too heavy main course!

For dessert I had the lemon tart and it rounded off the meal very well, not too sweet, not too sharp.

5 stars was easy as quality and value for money are spot on here!

So if you like simple and tasty Italian dishes then give this place a go! You won't be disappointed! :)

Have been to Topo about 10 times now. Family run restaurant. Food always excellent, incredibly attentive staff. Always a good atmosphere. Restaurant almost full at 7pm on a Wednesday - says something. Super value for money. As always, enjoyed my last visit and look forward to the next. Highly recommended

Have been to Topo Gigio several times before over a number of years, I found the food and service was good and the set price menu had good choice of all courses. Will be more than happy to return again soon.

Another super lunch here. We always enjoy the food and the great prices. The service is both efficient and friendly and we love the white table cloths and all the extras on the tables. See you again soon.

Decidedly average!

Female member of waiting staff was aggressive in manner and later found out that that was the owner!!!!

Prawn cocktail was tasteless and I have had better Lasagne from a supermarket not the authentic Italian meal I was expecting - would not return!

The rest of my party had different dishes but the overall opinion appeared to be average

We had a table booked for Valentines Day (14th Feb)

Arrived for our 7.30pm booking, to find no tables available! The restaurant was full, and the story was, someone must have come in without booking!!

There's a lot more I could say, but in essence we could not have been made to feel less welcome.

Customer Service in dealing with the problem, was minimal.

While we were hopefully waiting for a possible table (45 minutes), my wife was offered a seat by one of the customers, while I was left standing.

In the end we left, and managed to find a restaurant in Ewell Village (Il Capriccio). Although busy we were given a table. The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. The meal was excellent.

After what was a disastrous start, we had a lovely evening ????
