This cafe is expensive. 2 bacon sandwiches.and 2 hot drinks costed about £12. I was surprised at the cost. The bacon sandwich was nice my grumble is that it was two rashes of bacon. The hot chocolate was lovely.
The place was clean and the staff were very friendly and polite. The bread was nice. It was all nice , but a bit expensive.
First time we visit this cafe today, was a really nice experience from start to finish and we was both very happy with our meals.
I would say the prices could be a little lower on some of the items, not all.
We will definitely return.
Recently done up with new seating and decor, this place has a friendly welcome and serves good food at a reasonable price.
I had the cheese & ham omelette with salad (low carb) which was truly excellent. They really took pride in serving up a salad that was far above my expectations for a cafe. The omelette was of a generous size, superbly cooked and very tasty.
Highly recommended!!

Starting with the strengths, many customers complimented the cleanliness of the cafe and the friendly and polite staff. The recently done up seating and decor also received positive feedback, suggesting that the ambiance of the cafe is pleasing. The food quality was also praised in some comments, with specific mentions of the cheese & ham omelette with salad and the beans on toast. Additionally, the cafe is commended for having a toilet available for customers to use.
On the other hand, one major weakness that stands out is the high prices. Several customers expressed surprise and dissatisfaction with the cost of their meals, with one comment specifically mentioning that two bacon sandwiches and two hot drinks costed about £12, which was considered expensive. Another customer also stated that the prices could be a little lower on some items. This suggests that affordability may be an issue for some customers.
Another weakness mentioned by a customer was the portion size of the bacon sandwich. They felt that only two rashes of bacon were too small, which could imply that some menu items may not offer sufficient value for the price. Furthermore, there were a couple of comments criticizing the food quality, with one customer stating that the food wasn't great and another mentioning that the coffee wasn't good either. These comments suggest that there might be inconsistencies in the food and beverage offerings at The Village Cafe.

Many customers express their intention to return to the cafe, indicating a level of satisfaction with their experience. Positive aspects mentioned include the good food, lovely coffee, great value, and charming staff. The fact that the cafe has been renovated and offers comfortable booths is also appreciated by customers.
In conclusion, The Village Cafe has strengths in terms of cleanliness, friendly staff, ambiance, and specific food items that are well received. However, its weaknesses are primarily related to high prices, inconsistent food quality, and small portion sizes. Despite these weaknesses, the majority of customers seem to enjoy their experience at the cafe and express a desire to return.
