I've been a few time with the family and we haven't had one bad meal.
Its advisable to book before you go but having said that we have been un announced before and got a table.
The staff are very friendly and the food and beer selection good is varied.
They have 2 special boards one that has everyday food on the the other is fish dishes that ranges from swordfish steak to a fish platter.
They also have an outside courtyard thats lovely to sit in on hots summers day. 5⭐️????????
(The Cumberland fiesta in the picture comes with garden peas but I exchanged them for beans)
Called in again on Sunday and had the roast beef dinner. Empty plate again and still 5⭐️'s

Las chicas no se acercan a las mesas para pedir tu orden, tienes que hacerlo en la barra, tarda alrededor de 25 minutos en llegar, dependiendo lo lleno que esté. Mientras esperas puedes tomas una buena cerveza.

Really good place to eat. Nice and clean.reasonable price. Nice view outside. Ample parking place.
Decent menue and choice of food, friendly staff and nice decor. We opted for 2 x over 60's meals, not that impressed and the difference in the size of the fish we had was unbelievable. If I had been the chef, I certainly would not have sent 2 of the same meals out that were quite obviously so different in size, one was the size of a goldfish.

The chocolate cake is awesome.
For lunch we dined from the special 2 mains for £16 menu and both chose the 8oz gammon with jacket potato and all the trimmings. Both gammon were superb though the jacket potatoes were really over cooked albeit the edible portions were tasty. Quite busy for a lunchtime and good ambience though decor tired and could really do with some freshening up. Plenty of parking and seating, staff pleasant and good bers on draft.
A very disappointing lunch. Both of our meals were over cooked and no one came to check to ask if our food was ok. The chicken on my “gourmet” burger was hard and too well done. Most definitely not former! The fried eggs on my husband’s meal were also massively over cooked. This is the second time in recent months that we have been underwhelmed by the experience and after living in the area for many years, won’t be visiting again.
