Not the first time here , met by the tiger of Yoxall who is actually a warming Persian pussycat who couldn't do enough for us and subsequently served us the best meal my wife and I have had for sometime many thanks. J . I don't say this lightly as we travel widely though staffs , and Shropshire into Welsh borders ultimately I would happily recommend the food here it's done properly and u can tell ☆☆☆☆☆.
Quaint pub with separate snug and saloon.
Helpful Landlady who runs a smart efficient operation with good food, nearby parking, delightful pub garden with covered seating.
Stopped for lunch while passing through. Friendly service. Damn good food. Extremely neat and clean. Was lovely. Would recommend.
First time here and would return. Good choices on the menu, all very reasonably priced. Food was lovely - tasty and hot. Beautiful setting, with plenty of parking. If you're looking for good Pub Food - give The Golden Cup a try.
Came for lunch with a friend and were met with two very unfriendly and rude staff. Off hand when they were serving us, told us they were fully booked and no point coming as they’re very popular unless you book. However she eventually found us a small table for two for which we were grateful. We wanted a drink first but we’re told to order immediately as we’d have a long wait for our food with them expecting lots of people. We did this and the rudeness carried on!!!! At one point my friend was told to move along on her seat as she would be in the way of the people on the next table when they arrived. The whole time we were there only four people arrived for a table and no one occupied the table next to us. It was the same until it closed when we left!!! What was that all about???? I have never felt so unwelcome anywhere. We’ve been coming for at least 35 years but won’t be coming again and warning all our friends to give it a miss. Shocking. The good was ok.
Looks such a lovely place, stopped in the summer and had a drink in the beer garden, very impressed. Thought to go back and try the menu for lunch today.
Can't comment on food as didn't stay, lady behind bar wasn't very welcoming, asked if we had reserved a table, only 2 other guests were in the large, well presented dining area. Felt a little uncomfortable but went with it. She said to order at the bar when ready, husband went to order the food and drinks and was stood there 5 mins, was basically ignored. Had the feeling that our custom was unwelcome so decided to leave. Maybe she's more welcoming to their local customers.
Staff extremely slow to serve , tv in bar good but small , pool table definitely needs refurbishing...
Went for a meal here for the first time and definitely won't be the last, food, service, staff were all excellent. A real gem of a pub. First class.
