My wife had been here the week before with a friend and was really impressed with the under 600 calorie pizza, so we gave it a go early Sunday evening before a festival event. It wasn't busy, but our abiding memory was the hour or so to wait to be served with anything to eat. The service was very friendly and apologetic, the food reasonable enough once it arrived but what on earth is going on in the kitchen? They kept the main door open too, so we were pretty cold by the end of the ordeal. Could they serve a desert quickly, we asked? We gave up and asked for the bill - which arrived on the table instantly. My wife was apologetic, my children irritated they missed out on a sweet and I was distinctly underwhelmed with it all.
Visited with newborn and 7 years old. We came during quiet lunch time but as we sat down the place suddenly became very busy. Personally we thought there was too many staff present therefore they looked a bit lost as the restaurant itself is quite small. We had to ask twice for small things but overall it was an ok experience. I am rating "very good" as our food was delicious. We've ordered pizza, salomon (my favourite) and kids pizza. We didn't leave disappointed.
I have given it 5 stars but it does depend on what you are looking for. Its a very friendly pub, proper pub. The landlord and landlady are usually on hand, by that i mean its not a different face behind the bar every time you go in but i wouldnt take children there and i dont believe they do much in the way of food.
Music too loud, mulledcwine lukewarm. A "drinkers" pub.
Well its not been in there before, pleasantly surprised clean plenty of room nice corner area were we all sat (5) so not to be interrupted while talking. Will be back. Kelly bar staff very nice & cheerful.
Good entertainment when we went and a good selection of larger..
Great little place to go for a drink. They show the rugby and the football last weekend. It's a small venue with only about 10 tables that can be used with Covid spacing but still a nice stop off on the way to or from Brighton
A lovely small pub. Clearly redecorated, the toilets desperately need refusbishment. The Moretti is nicely served, although, I am not overly impressed with the jukebox. While I dislike paying to listen to music in a pub listening to other peoples tunes of despair I dislike even more. Or the alternative is to listen to the total rubbish often stuffed into jukeboxes which nobody ever listens to, nor wants to listen to. Sort this aspect out, clean the toilets and I think this could be a 5 star gem of a pub.
