Best Chippy in Aber!
This is the place to go for fish and chips if you're visiting Aberystwyth, right on the seafront and great value for money. Must admit that the chips on my second visit weren't as good, they were quite dry and crispy, I think we must have just been unlucky and got the scraps before fresh ones were cooked. Still, the fish was extremely fresh, hot and salted just to my liking, couldn't complain there. Nice big portions of curry sauce too. Would definitely come here again in the future.
A big portion, but the quality of my cheesy chips was really low - the staff just put some grated cheese on the top which didn't even melt. What is even worse, they have very small forks and that's really hard to eat using them - I had to go back home to enjoy my meal. A cod was okay but really nothing special, I can't see why there are so many good reviews of this place.
Chips with scratchings like it used to be,everything was just cooked well,nice cod,nice mushy peas and good curry sauce,reasonable price.
Best chippy in Aberystwyth!! Had to wait for the fish to be cooked but wow.
Beautifully soft fish in a crunchy batter. Superb chips.
Often wondered why there was such a queue outside. We used to go to the pier for fish & chips - not any more!!
This used to be a lovely chip shop but it was awful now ... the fish was slimey and batter wasn't cooked enough. The chips were full of eyes and tasted like they were reheated ???? also only 1 hygiene rating and was so low on the door I missed it .... was unable to eat them and to far to take them back....
Just was served the most disgusting fish cake I have ever eaten.
Suspect it was deep fried in the worst/oldest oil available.
Will never go there again
Not very impressed chips looked and tasted like they had been reheated also a staff member came in off the street in pyjamas and dressing gown and walked in behind the counter where the cooking was taking place and no one was wearing any aprons or uniform. Would not go back there again.
