Best PlaceJuice Reviews

I’ve been drinking in here regularly since moving to the area last year; every Friday I pop in. Today I went in at 230pm with my daughter and was told “we don’t usually cater for children.” So we had to go. Fair enough; be traditional. Yet this pub served me and my wife last year when we took our daughter in so - in line with being traditional - maybe be consistent too. An afternoon Sunday pint in the corner whilst my daughter has a coke is not going to ruin the atmosphere of your pub.
Time to look for a new venue to for a post-work-pint.
Very busy pub with a nice log fire just what you need on a chilly night. Good choice off of beer and ales did not try the wine. Cosy village pub with good service and friendly staff.
A great place if you like your pubs to be traditional. Oak beams, fireplace and good beer on tap
Was there for the Sunday top quality.
A true British pub.
I would highly recommend a trip to this
Establishment
Excellent service and food for my Dads 90th birthday 13/10. My first visit to the pub in 45 years .
Thanks to the team for making it special.
Cracking little traditional pub on the outskirts of the Village - nice beers kept well and very friendly
We stopped by and asked if a table was available for us with our 2 small children (3 and 5). I was then asked "are your children well behaved? We don't usually accept children "..to which I obviously replied no, as you can never guarantee the behaviour of children that age! Extremely shocked by these questions and the fact that children weren't welcome in a random local pub..very unpleasant
Cosy village pub with nice outdoor seating. Lunch sandwiches were really nice and reasonably priced; landlady was friendly and helpful, answering questions I had about the area. I would definitely return.

Quick Facts About The Anchor

The Anchor Place is a pub with several strengths and weaknesses based on the comments provided. It is important to note that these comments are subjective and may differ from individual experiences.
One strength of The Anchor Place is its traditional atmosphere. Many customers appreciate the oak beams, log fire, and overall ambiance of the pub. This appeals to those who enjoy a classic pub setting and adds to the cozy and welcoming feel of the establishment. The traditional setting paired with good beer on tap is a definite advantage for pub-goers who value this experience.
Additionally, the service at The Anchor Place is praised in some of the comments. Customers mention good service and friendly staff, which can enhance the overall experience. This positive feedback indicates that the staff is attentive and helpful, which can contribute to a pleasant visit.
Another strength highlighted in comments is the quality of the food. Customers mention excellent food and service for special occasions such as birthdays, indicating that The Anchor Place can cater to large groups and provide a memorable experience. This is particularly significant for those seeking a reliable venue for important events.
The pricing of food and drinks also seems to be reasonable based on customer feedback. The comment about reasonably priced lunch sandwiches suggests that The Anchor Place offers value for money, attracting customers who appreciate affordable options.
However, there are a few weaknesses that have been raised in the comments. One common complaint is inconsistent policies regarding children. While some customers have been able to bring their children in the past without any issues, others have been turned away or faced uncomfortable questioning about their children's behavior. This inconsistency may be seen as a weakness, especially for families who want to enjoy a pint while also accommodating their children.
The comment about being told that children aren't usually accepted in the pub reflects negatively on the establishment's inclusivity. Customers may feel unwelcome or excluded if they have young children, which can tarnish the pub's reputation and discourage potential patrons from visiting.
Another potential weakness is the limited options for non-alcoholic beverages. While the pub serves a good variety of beer and ales, there is no mention of the selection or quality of non-alcoholic drinks. This may be a detriment to customers who prefer non-alcoholic options or have dietary restrictions.
In conclusion, The Anchor Place has several strengths including its traditional atmosphere, good service, and quality food. These factors contribute to a positive experience for many customers. However, inconsistent policies regarding children and potential limitations in non-alcoholic drink options are weaknesses that may impact the overall appeal of the pub. Addressing these concerns could help The Anchor Place attract a wider range of customers and improve their reputation within the community.
