Warning ⛔️ lengthy review. My friend Keisha recommended this shop. I immediately booked an appointment and when I searched for the address I came upon these reviews. I started to feel a little less confident. ????
After actually going I’m convinced all these negative reviews are simply people who want to deter others from going here so they can keep these amazing women to theirselves!!!! I’m not gonna lie it’s tempting to do the same. I can’t though, I have to give an honest review and hope I am lucky enough to get a seat in the future.
I wish I could give them 10 ⭐️✨????stars because that’s truly what they deserve. I went in today and was immediately assisted. I had a personalized “consultation” to discuss exactly what I wanted and when I tell you they delivered- it’s an understatement! No corners were cut and so many little extra courtesies were extended.
I’ve never understood why men spent an entire day at the barbershop but after my experience at Tetee’s I finally get it. Tetee and her sisters provided an atmosphere that was conformable and frankly fun! We all watched funny tv, sat in comfy chairs, and chitchatted while getting beautified. It was insanely busy and I never once felt like the work was being rushed. The sisters worked together to provide everyone with exactly what they wanted.
They outdid the reference photo I showed by a landslide and gave me recommendations for keeping my natural hair healthy. I don’t get my hair braided often but I will absolutely go to Tetee’s when I do.

I have been there several times. She is very good. She likes to give you exactly what you are asking for. Her prices are fair. She is quick but precise! If you have to wait she will address it with you (give you an estimate) but I have not had to wait much at all over the 3 years I have been coming to her.
My advice to anyone going here is to be prepared with patience and ask questions. 1. Insist on getting an estimate on what your style will cost prior to service. 2. Insist on knowing who will style your hair. I scheduled my appointment w/ TeeTee, someone else did my hair and I wasn’t introduced to this person, she just said “good morning” and started my hair. 3. They only take cash so again, insist on knowing the cost of your service since they only accept cash. 4. Don’t let them pull your hair too tight. Black women are now experiencing tension alopecia. Stylists should know this and must do a better job taking care of black hair. No style requires braids so tight you can’t move your head and you can’t sleep.
5. My appointment was at 8a, TeeTee got there at 8:30a (did not call me to say she’ll be late, and didn’t apologize when I texted her asking if we were still on); I got in a chair around 9a, the lady started my hair at 9:30a-again, no apologies for the lateness either. 6. I did not get the hairstyle I asked for and I paid a lot of money for a style I didn’t want. I texted a pic to TeeTee the day before, showed it to her prior to service, she asked me how much hair I wanted - volume or natural look, I said natural, I got big hair!
Prior to the visit, my friend, who recommended TeeTee to me, went with me to the hair store and we spoke to TeeTee about the style I wanted and TeeTee told us what hair to buy. I’m no one special, but I really expected she’d remember who I was and what style I wanted considering she talked w/ us about it over the phone.
I’m so disappointed, but I also blame myself for not being my own hair advocate. I should’ve insisted on getting answers prior to the appt, and that my hair was being done by the person I scheduled with. I just didn’t want to make waves and I wanted to respect the owner and how she did business. I will never do that again for services I AM PAYING FOR.
Lastly, black women hair salon owners must do better, especially with black customers. We trust you to know our hair and treat it with care and respect.
I watched this woman take a blow dryer to a young girl’s beautiful head of thick long hair and w/ little concern just rake the hair dryer through her hair saying “this is a lot of hair. Too much hair!!” She didn’t detangle the hair or treat it with anything to smooth out kinks. This girl was in obvious pain & discomfort and I wanted to say something so bad, but I was in a mess of pain myself. There was no call for that kind of pain. If she doesn’t know how to treat hair, this probably isn’t the business for her.
When someone is spending their time & hard-earned money at your business they deserve your best. I wasn’t looking for a discount. I wanted my hair done and I wanted to support a black woman, and let’s be honest, our options for salons who lovingly cater to natural black hair are limited. Do better-for the culture!
i’ve been going too Tee T . hair braiding for 10 yrs . i love her .she great people n treats her customers great. great place too get your hair done . she is my number one in my black book????dat gurl is on ????fire
I got passion twists done and it looks incredible! They do an awesome job! Every style they do looks amazing. I have found my new braiding shop
I am leaving a review because I appreciate others opinions when I am choosing to give someone my business. This establishment is very unprofessional. They double book and have you waiting for hours! No apology or anything. You’d be lucky if they show up on time. Y’all need to get it together and learn how to run a business properly. The most ghetto shop I’ve ever been to. I would never recommend them to anyone! ZERO STARS!!!
I love it there. Tee Tee is the truth. I usually get sew ins but I got faux locs today & I am obsessed. She did a great job! Highly recommend.
Wish I could give a negative number... it was the worse African hairbraiding shop I have ever gone to! The owner was mean and extremely RUDE, did I say RUDE!!! she had zero customer service skills, and talk to clients in a manner like she is ready to throw you out of her shop. On top of that, they had one African woman braid my hair and she was slow as a sloth, I mean I have NEVER seen an African person braided so slow in my entire time I've been braiding my hair, she said it was going to take 5 hours, I ended up staying there for over 9 hours, it was MISERABLE... And the rude owner lady refuses to take my debit card although she had the machine to do it, and demanded that I go to nearby Wawa to get cas, because she only accepts GREEN like she puts it...
JUST STAY AWAY FROM THAT PLACE, IF A BUSINESS OWNER DOESNT HAVE THE SIMPLE MANNER TO TREAT HER CUSTOMERS WITH RESPECT, no reason people should go there to hand her GREEN! REGRET EVER GOING INTO THAT SHOP!!!
