Highly, highly recommend this nail salon! The owners are a very sweet couple and I really enjoy chatting with both of them while getting my nails done. They’re both so kind and their energy is so refreshing! I’ve been to and have frequented many nail salons and the wife who owns this shop is one of the best I’ve had at shaping! She’s so detailed oriented with her shaping and she really takes her time to ensure each nail looks good. She did my entire set in the photos I uploaded and I am so happy with the result! The marbling and gold came out so good. This nail salon is definitely a southend gem and weekdays are not busy so you won’t have to wait too long! If you’re searching for a new nail salon, you have to check them out!
I've gone a couple of times for dip nails and facial waxing and they always do a great job :) Staff is super friendly and the place is kid friendly (saw a mom with her baby & a elementary school kiddo with tap dance shoes -- was super cute)
The staff is friendly and works well, However They will charge you $20 extra for the dipping powder removal without telling you in advance. Even if you are a regular customer. Be aware. Paid $100 for gel + regular pedicure.
We had a great experience at Star Nails. They got 3 of us in with little notice. Nice menu of choices for our pedicures plus a very warm and relaxing environment.
I went here to remove my acrylic nails and get a regular manicure and pedicure. Honestly came out traumatized. I had gotten acrylics for the first time at a different salon, came here for removal. The lady had me soak my nails for maybe 10 minutes at the most and then proceeded to RIP THEM OFF. SHE RIPPED OFF CHUNKS OF MY NATURAL NAIL. She was saying who has the time to sit and wait for them to soak off LOL. WELL OKAY I'M NEVER COMING BACK.
The pedicure was fine and the other girl doing my pedicure seemed to be a bit horrified by the acrylic experience as well.
I paid $76 + tip for a regular manicure and a gel pedicure. Here’s the deal. The mani is $30 something and the pedi is $40 something. The establishment is old, nothing looked clean, I didn’t see anyone clean anything before use or pull anything out of sterilization. In fact, I didn’t even see the typically ubiquitous sterile “fridge” that is visible in most salons.
I was in and out in 40 minutes because they were slow. I had one woman do my feet while another woman did my hands. I did have an appointment.
They cut and shaped my nails without asking if I wanted them cut, or asking what shape. They didn’t ask about my toes either and they didn’t trim them at all, only shaped them. My pedicurist barely touched my callouses. By contrast, the manicurist was aggressive with my cuticles. The paint job on my still very long toenails is excellent. The paint job on my manicure had bubbles and missing patches while the manicurist was painting them and she ignored them.
Overall: such a mixed experience I’d avoid them. Especially at those prices.

Very clean and nice decor. Didn't have to wait long for walk-in service.
Pricier than I've paid at others, but I feel was worth it.
