I have been going to Sammy's with my mom for a few months now, and have had no problems. The gel manicures are good, and the prices are even better. Lots of colors to choose from. Last visit, I decided to go for a dip manicure and had a poor experience. The manicurist did not ask if I wanted to cut or file my nails (or the shape) or cut my cuticles. The dip came out really thick and she seemed like she did not know what she was doing at all. I told the owner/manager about this and another woman took over to correct my manicure. It looked better but still not great. It's been one week and the top coat is already peeling off.
Overall, I would stay away from the dip powder, seems like I will have to find a new salon sadly.
Jack and Sammy are the best . First 3 chairs should be your choice to get great nails. Jack nails last me over three weeks if I can't make it to the nail salon. I have been coming here over 25 years. My IG sunny_brooklyn718
I normally come to this place and I never have problems with any service, but sadly today was a total disaster. The manicurist was so freakin rude and everything but gentle. As soon as I came, she insisted in doing a gel manicure, service that I don’t like doing very often… she insisted so many times and every time I said “no thank you but I want the regular one” she was getting mad at me.
The manicure process was another story, she was so rough all the time, she didn’t do all the steps, she didn’t do what I asked for and I had to tell her to be more gentle with my hands. What was supposed to be a time of relaxation, was completely the opposite. All the manicurists are always so nice to me, but because of this woman, I’m considering no longer be a customer and find a place where I feel respected no matter what service I ask for.
Went to this nail salon right before was closing and it was empty I was probably one of the few customers in there. I showed one of the nail techs a design I wanted, And they end up doing it for me but I noticed towards the end of the design she started putting some diamonds that I didn’t ask for. So I assume that it was complementary. And towards the end she end up charging me more than what I originally was told. She had originally told me $60, and ended up charging me more because of the diamonds she added. Never went back again! don’t charge people for something they ain’t even ask for! She really she went ahead and added the diamonds without asking me if I didn’t want, then at the ended up charging me for it like I asked for . At the end she said “but I added diamonds to it”she knew exactly what she was doing , when putting them on. That is greedat its finest. I dont think I even tipped after paying because of that. They were that desperate and ready to do that just to charge something I didn’t ask for even though you willing we put it on yourself. They definitely cannot be trusted, and never will go back and I recommend no one to go there. They are very greedy as I can see. And it makes me wanna not support their businesses less each time. Dont charge me for something I didn’t ask for, when you willingly putting it on your yourself. I didn’t ask for those damn diamonds and they just did it, so why are you charging me for it. Never went back. I recommend if you ever do go to the salon they try to put diamonds on her nails that you didn’t ask for it tell them to take it off, that’s their way of trying to make money money off of certain people. I also recommend when these things happen and when they are trying to sneaky and charge for extra things that wasn’t asked for, don’t tip them. They know what they are doing when they do things like this, plan and simple.
I moved out the neighborhood and have tried so many nail saloons but could not find one that compares. I now travel 25 mins every two weeks to get my nails done here. #myspot
Everyone here is great!! I go to Nancy and Vivian, both ladies take their time and are very detailed in the service they are providing. I try to get there early because it can get a bit busy at times!
My niece recommended this place, I got right into a chair immediately, Monday afternoon crowded but still got a chair right away… Only thing I don’t like is when they Ask if you want extra this and extra that, they always say five dollars more, ????..other than that a pleasant experience and I am happy with my nails.
I’ve been coming here for years. The owner Sammy is rude and has terrible customer service! I stopped going in 2019 and then the pandemic hit and I wasn’t doing my nails. I went back today hoping they had improved their overall customer experience. I went in there at 5pm when there was only one person in front of me. By 6pm there people who walked in after me were called to the pedicure station. I asked Sammy why three people who came in after me were going before me, she said “none of them want to do your nails”. Huh??? So then why wasn’t I told this when I came in? Why was I given then colors to choose from? Why was I sitting waiting for an entire hour. Just say we made a mistake and we’re sorry! Not only have I seen them absolutely degrade black women before but the continue to talk to us crazy. Leave our community if you don’t have respect!!!!
