A delightfully cozy cafe, run by such a lovely man. Books line the wall. Fantastic coffee. Very reasonably priced. Tufnell Park staple.
This cozy literary cafe is one of my favourite places so far! :)
The atmosphere is friendly and serene, while the nice classical music in background helps you relax while reading a book, studying, working with your laptop, or simply enjoying a moment with a friend.
Many paintings to support local artists are exposed on the walls, while the shelves are full of books from a local bookshop.
The food is also tasty and nice, and it is both possible to have lunch/dinner with their freshly prepared meals, or simply enjoy a cup of coffee or tea while tasting a cookie or a piece of cake.
I really appreciate this place, its welcoming owner and its lovely atmosphere, and I would recommend it no doubts.
Interesting place! Very close to Tufnell Park station on the northern line with a small terrace garden out back. The food was very nice, though my baguette could maybe have come with a side salad garnish, but just a thought. It was very tasty and I'd come again. The goats cheese salad also looked great.
He said it is his ideal home and he would like to share with people. Now near 20 years passed, many changes happened in this area, but this coffee shop still stay the same, like old friends. Another hidden gem in Tufnell Park for you.

Ambience:
Homely, peaceful, and warm. As the owner said to me, this coffee shop is his ideal home, good tea and coffee, fresh homemade food, warm wall color, lots of books, a garden where people could just sit in to enjoy the peace or be in a daze calmly.
Staff Friendliness: Very welcoming, friendly, and smiley.
Cost:
Coffee £1.7-£3.95
Tea £1.95-£3.55
Cakes £3.20-£4.65 (The whole cake is £40!)

Something Special About the Cafe:
The vibe is comfy and laid-back, as well as a little quirky, but the owners and the staff are really nice to customers;
It is a good place to stay longer, even though you just order a coffee, they will not mind;
Problems:
The coffee is good, but food and cakes are average and overpriced for what you get.
Very cozy place with welcoming staff. The food was comforting and the fruit salad was delicious :)
Lovely atmosphere and great staff, but I didn't like the food or coffee. It's similar to what you get in any other normal and cheaper British cafes, but with a nice view.
One of the friendliest, warmest welcomes you'll ever experience
This is an unusual place. A quiet cafe with a literary slant - the sort of place where you can work for a while, write a few pages of the novel, while drinking good coffee. The food is simple but nice - coffee, interesting iced teas, cake, scrambled eggs, that sort of thing. The staff here are really lovely and the whole atmosphere is just ... tranquil. They have succeeded in creating a precious kind of atmosphere in London - pure peace and a space to be relaxed and maybe creative in.
