My son played with his fathers electric razor and cut into his locs. Recommended by a friend to go see Blue. I called and the first person I spoke to wasn't really interested in talking to me, but they did get my number and give the message to Blue. Blue called me back right away and was very polite and letting me know that there were options besides shaving my sons hair off. When we got there 15 min prior to our appointment time of 11am on Sunday morning Blue was not there yet, but Mark Anthony was. While Mark was with his client he confirmed we were there for Blue. After 45min of waiting for Blue, and after Mark took my son to the store to get some candy, Mark said he would help us out. Mark was great with my son. Blue showed up a little after 12pm, he immediately apologized for being late. When Mark was finished with my son (Mark is not a licensed barber and cannot use a straight razor) Blue came over and looked it over, not exactly the crispest line up, Blue did some final touches on him and it was perfect for no extra charge. No hard feelings for Blue being late, things happen and his professional conduct and apology went a long way with me. I will go back in the future when my son needs his edges cleaned up. Shop was clean, the gentlemen were kind and welcoming of me being there, kind to my son but also gave him some much needed advice. I also like that they are open on a Sunday.
Would not recommend this barbershop. went in to get a line up, & asked how much it would cost. one barber couldn’t tell me & looked to the other barber who said $10. Then minutes later after I noticed nonverbal communication between the two barbers he stated “ & up” … asked if the & up was for designs & he said “ get in the chair & you’ll find out” .. once I was about to leave the other barber said that he’d line me up for $10. got in his chair & got the worse line up I ever got @ a shop. Idk what it was but seemed disingenuous from the moment I stepped inside. got jealous energy for some odd reason, no place for that especially as a black business… if u an Ypsi local u might be ok but if u new, they gon make a bad 1st impression out of hidden jealousy. I guess they comfortable with the clientele they got, so they won’t grow with that type of ethics in business. had to go home & fix my own line up & turned out better than what I paid for. Never going back there worst barber experience cause of insecure barbers.
My first and last time ever going to this barbershop. My barber was on the phone the entire time I was in his chair. Trying to take care of business while at work is fine but not when you're dealing with a customer. He used profanity 90% of the time I was there. He didn't listen to me when I told him how I wanted my hair cut. I said cut a little. He cut a lot! I will NEVER go back to this shop again! $30 wasted!
Went to the barber shop with a confirmed appt but we was waiting forever. Finally got in the chair and did a terrible job job the first time. Asked Moe to redo and he acted annoyed by this. Finally after an hour got back in the chair, and said only wanted a little cut down. Went from an Afro to a short hair cut...he didn't even listen but yet the haircut was 35 dollars. Not to mention they were smoking up in there?
NEVER going back.
Yeah I went in the as a walk in I see this guy I’m going to believe is as Alex cause guy was like slow and I couldn’t even hear when he spoke. Upon him finishing a kid hair cut I immediately walk up to ask him a simple question okay. Do you accept Visa card? Firstly the door from the entrance was open and you hear nothing but cars. I couldn’t even really make out what he said. Anyways he like we take cash and card but you can go get some cash. Huuhhhh???? Then he then goes on to say you can pay now. An I even get my hair cut done yet. So you take card or no.
I was a walk-in customer earlier today (Saturday in December). I had a great experience: Three other cuts going on but no wait at all; a comfortable barber chair where the magic happened in just under 30 minutes, and a great cut with wonderful attention to detail — Alex used the straight razor to line me up, with no nicks when finished. Best barber there... he knows how to cut naturally curly locks with both clippers and scissors. There’s plenty of free parking out back and on the side (unlike those downtown & campus joints). Pricing is fair and competitive. The barbers work with both nappy and good hair. I’ll be back!
Nice on inside. But the barber doesn't listen to his customers. He basically cuts how the way he knows how clearly. This guy had several people waiting at his shop while he went home to do something. He's also too rough with his customers while cutting.
I will never go back to this place again. The open sign was still on when I went to get my sons hair cut but nobody was in the store. Some old guy came from out of his car and said that Alex was on break. When Alex came back he was rude and had no customer service skills. Why would you leave your place of business during hours of service? I will from now on go to a more professional business in a less sketchy part of town.

Quick Facts About Royal Cuts II

Royal Cuts II is a barbershop that has received a mixed set of reviews from customers. In order to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of the place, we will consider the comments provided.
One of the strengths of Royal Cuts II is their willingness to accommodate customers and provide alternative options. In the first comment, the customer's son accidentally damaged his hair, and Blue, one of the barbers, immediately offered alternatives to shaving off the hair. This shows that the barbers are attentive and focused on finding solutions for their customers, rather than taking the easy way out. Additionally, the customer mentions that Blue was polite and professional, which is an important trait for barbers to possess.
Another strength mentioned by multiple customers is the kindness and welcoming nature of the barbers. In the first comment, the customer appreciates that the gentlemen at the barbershop were kind and welcoming towards her and her son. Similarly, in the last comment, the customer notes that the shop is nice on the inside. These positive interactions with customers create a comfortable environment, which is crucial for repeat business.
The fact that Royal Cuts II is open on Sundays is also mentioned as a strength. This provides convenience for customers who may have busy schedules during the week, as they can still get a haircut on the weekend. Being open on Sundays could potentially attract more customers and generate more business.
While Royal Cuts II has its strengths, there are also some weaknesses pointed out by customers. One weakness mentioned is poor communication and customer service. In the second comment, the customer describes a situation where the barbers were not upfront about the pricing and seemed disingenuous. This lack of transparency can create a negative impression on customers and make them hesitant to return.
In multiple comments, there are mentions of unprofessional behavior by the barbers. The customer in the third comment mentions that their barber was on the phone the entire time and used profanity frequently. This behavior is not only disrespectful to the customer but also reflects poorly on the professionalism of the barbershop. Additionally, in the fifth comment, the customer mentions that the barber left the shop during business hours, leaving customers waiting. This highlights a lack of responsibility and customer-focused mindset.
Another weakness mentioned is the lack of attentiveness and poor haircut quality. In the fourth comment, the customer states that the barber did a terrible job and did not listen to their instructions. This suggests that the barbers at Royal Cuts II may not pay enough attention to detail or prioritize customer satisfaction. In the same comment, the customer also mentions that the barbers were smoking inside the shop, which is unprofessional and can create a negative environment for customers.
In conclusion, Royal Cuts II has both strengths and weaknesses that can be gleaned from the comments provided. Some of the strengths include their willingness to provide alternative options to customers, kindness towards customers, and convenience of being open on Sundays. However, weaknesses include poor communication and customer service, unprofessional behavior, and lack of attentiveness to customer instructions.
