Absolute disgrace the amount of micro plastic along the shore, in the sand and in and around the woods, is worst I’ve seen. All ending up in the water. The people that use this place have no regard for the environment and the council do not care. Looked over the new board walk they put up and all I seen were face mask and crisp packets in the water. Anytime I go I try to pick it all up but there’s only so much one can do. Won’t be going here again. Hope you all enjoy plastic in your fish which can cause many health problems, cause that where it’s all going to end up.

A picturesque, leafy walking trail through the trees at the edge of Lough Neagh, Antrim. A definite must for any hiker who wants all the peace of a forest walk with sights and sounds of wave lapped shores. A truly beautiful gem of a place that is seriously underated compared to its more famous sister attraction at Antrim Castle Gardens. PS. Handy free parking make this ideal for dog walkers too.
Handy spot to drive to from Macmillan Antrim hospital.have your food go a walk along shore. See jet skis etc on Lough. Get head showered. From hospital atmosphere. Plenty of dog walkers.
Great place for a dander.
The car park is decently sized, though the frequent rubbish from the chippy is a bit unfortunate.
Nice views over the lough, with lots of flat but pretty deals walks through the woods.
A nice walk along the shore of Lough Neagh and then through the woodland. We last visited on a sunny Spring afternoon and the wood was full of Bluebells and Wild Garlic.
The main route is easy to follow and there are other rougher paths that take you through the woods and onto the shoreline
On a good day the views across the lough are really nice and swans, ducks and Grey Herons can be seen.
We saw no dog fouling and very little litter on our latest walk here.
I recommend this walk should you visit Antrim.
Nice linear walk along Lough Neagh shore. Park up at the Lough Shore Park and the walk starts behind the Gateway visitor centre. The best times are around sunset for stunning skies over the Lough. The return walk will take about 40 minutes, but you can take longer and find a quiet spot to sit and watch the sunset. There's plenty of places to get a coffee and snack back at the Lough Shore Park.
Lovely place for a walk either on your own, with your partner or walking the dog. You have lough neagh on one side of you and loads of different trees, wild flowers all around you . There birds singing in the trees and you might be lucky a see them are a pheasant, mouse, butterflies or another animal. Or just to ground yourself
Lovely quiet walk along the Lough. Awesome views if the sky is clear. Excellent facilities at the car park
