Chris was great. I brought in my 2 1/2 yr old grandson for his first professional hair cut. He doesn't like ppl touching his hair very much. Chris was fantastic with him, made him feel at ease and worked very well with him moving quite a bit. I gave him my phone which helped. I was very impressed and very pleased with the atmosphere, kindness and the patience of Chris and the staff. This place has been open for over 61 yrs which was a preference of mine cause I wanted a place with experience and I found it at the Okemos Barber shop. We even traveled 40 minutes to go there. Well worth the time and $ I spent for the hair cut & gas.
Recommend for every male young and old to go there.
First visit: easily made same-day appointment by phone. In shop, all personnel were friendly. Curt gave me a fine haircut at a reasonable price. I will return. I am glad to support a business that has been around for generations.

Recently moved to Lansing area and tried a few barbershops. Not impressed!
Looked on Internet and found Okemos Barber Shop and gave it a try. Wonderful! Got a great haircut from friendly, talented barbers. (wife says "Best haircut you ever got!")
They took care of me on a walk-in basis, even though they normally require appointments. You can be sure that I'll be making one in about 5 weeks.
