I had a “manicure” with the dip powder and my fingers are so painful today because instead of using the proper tools to remove my cuticles the male manicurist used the drill to attempt to remove them. He was very rough and did not soak my nails or use hand lotion as would be done with a routine manicure. Not to mention the staff was very rude like I was bothering them. It’s hard to have a business when you don’t have customers. You all should appreciate the business. Photos included here. I will not be returning.
I've been here about 6 times and today was my last time.
While their work is just ok, their customer service is .....well there is none.
I had an appointment today and walked in a few minutes before my scheduled time. Not ONE of the technicians looked up to say "hello", "welcome", or ask how they could help. It was dead silent in there so you could not have missed the sound of the door opening or the gush of cold air coming through.
I signed in, selected a color and sat down. And waited. And waited. And waited. One of the men technicians looked up at me then looked back down. The woman with whom I had an appointment was with another client but never once looked up to acknowledge she had a customer waiting (me). About 15 minutes past my appointment, I finally could see that she was not even close to being done with her current client yet she never acknowledged me. What a great way to make a customer feel good. Feel welcomed. Feel you appreciate their business.
Then, one of the other male technicians walked over to ask the other only customer who had been waiting before me what she needed. Again, he never said hello or anything to me. I knew he saw me but didn't say a word to me.
It was now 25 minutes after my appointment time. Still nothing. Still no one asking what I needed. Still no word or anything from the woman with whom I had the appointment.
At this point, a female tech who was giving a pedicure was finished and got up to guide the customer to a seat for a manicure. She looked right at me but did not smile or acknowledge me.
Nearing 28 minutes past my scheduled time, I Googled for nail salons near me and B&J Nail salon came up. I phoned them and they were so pleasant on the phone and actually had an opening in a half hour. I got up and walked out and I really doubt they even cared.
Every time I have gone to Nails and Toes, it's been this same way. Never a hello, welcome, or a thank you.
The time before today, the woman who did my pedi was so unfriendly. Again, she never said hello, acknowledged I existed, or said thank you when I gave her a generous tip. She won't even smile. Another customer tried to engage in conversation with her and she gave short terse answers. It's been like that each time and today was enough. My bad for making today's appointment.
I've seen them treat many customers this way and I refuse anymore to support business who don't appreciate their customers. While they're closer to me , B&J Nails is worth driving the extra few miles.
And after the terrific pedicure and welcoming atmosphere I had at B&J Nails on McKnight Road, I'll give my business and money them.
Meh. Not one nail tech smiled — let alone made eye contact or even small talk. Is everyone here miserable for a particular reason? The location wasn’t overly busy. It should capture a profitable number of clients since competitors are miles away. But the salon does not seem to know it is in the service industry. These hands will travel the additional 15 minutes to either Wexford or McCandless in search of a more hospitable environment. #SpendWhereItIsAppreciated❣️
I wouldn’t recommend this salon. I had acrylic nails removed and rather than soaking them (as you should) I had another nail shoved under my fake ones to remove them. I have NEVER dealt with this before at any other salon. The pain was so bad that I had to gasp and pull my hand away several times, yet my technician continued despite my requests to soak them. The manicure I received after was so bad that I had to go home and remove the polish. The pedi left me with polish that looks like a 5 year old painted it on. Not to mention that the service tech was hitting my feet and legs rather than communicating with me, which made me very uncomfortable. I will not be returning.
Do not go here, I went a few times and the first was cool but I noticed that their gel polish doesn’t last and they overcharge. My last time I went I literally only got my real finger nails and toes polished with gel; no soak, acrylic, massage, color change, design nothing, just plain polished with white gel. They charged $60, never again! Lol (I don’t have pics of the white nails but they peeled also) & (green olive pic was the time before & I had to get them fixed cause 2 broke the next day, then 3 more broke after I got them fixed so 3 are superglued on in the pic)
So the staff was amazing we didn't have to wait and everything was clean. Only thing, they don't have many regular colors to school from and my pedicure was ok. The lady next to me got more to hers and we got the same thing. I guess it just depends on who actually helps you. But the staff was so nice and i loved everything else. Ill probably try one more time!
I never leave reviews but this was so bad I had to say something. The place is dirty, unprofessional and my manicurist was extremely frazzled. Two male manicurist were asleep in the pedicure chairs when I walked in. No one said hello until a woman walked in from the back and asked what I wanted. She a sloppy job and was fairly physically aggressive while doing my manicure. I kept trying to indicate I was being hurt by the file or by her tapping the powder off too hard, but she ignored me. She seemed upset the whole time, couldn’t find supplies and had to redo 3 or 4 nails during multiple steps in the dip powder process because they were so sloppily done, it just couldn’t be ignored. Generally, you should never come to an establishment where the employees sleep in front of customers. I will never come back here and pay for this service. I regret every dollar I spent on the one manicure.
I come here on a frequent basis, and normally love it! It took 2 hours to get my nails done, in a not busy salon. I had my nails soaked for about 45 minutes, and the lady who started my nails took someone else and completed an entire acrylic set before I was finished. The woman who did my nails did not even put a gel top coat on my dip. I worked at a nail salon for 2 years, and have never seen that happen before. I am disappointed, 2 hours is unacceptable for a dip service.
