Best PlaceJuice Reviews

We get Caribbean take out regularly and have never left a bad review. We even had it yesterday as well from a different restaurant so really have something to compare it to. So first of all, service was slow took about 15 minutes to get our food, but I’m not too worried about that. My biggest gripe was the quantity of food. The portion sizes were not only small it literally felt like you were being taken for a fool! Where is the meat? It’s all gravy! I cook curry goat often myself and this little goat didn’t taste good and hadn’t been cooked until tender enough. The peppered steak was awful although the other disagrees on this point but agrees the portion size was ridiculous. The only good thing was the jerk chicken it tasted good and was an acceptable sized portion. There were no bit of salad or veg on the side to garnish as you would normally get as part of a ‘meal’. We would normally expect a large meal to be eaten in 2 sittings but we are now sat here with a bunch of rice n peas and nothing (well a shed load of gravy) to have with it. Last nights meal from another restaurant was cheaper, plenty for 2 sittings, veg on the side and tasted amazing to be fair we were a long way from home so the fact it was a bit cheaper will have been relevant to location however we eat local often and for the price paid which is about the going rate for the area the portions, taste and quality fell well short of the competition locally.
This is probably the worst Caribbean takeaway I’ve ever had by far and I order Caribbean takeaways quite frequently. There are so many negatives to say about this restaurant that I cannot see it lasting too long if things don’t change. Firstly, the prices are so overpriced considering how little the portion sizes are. Me and my girlfriend got oxtail and it was literally filled with gravy. The oxtail in general tasted like it was drenched in salt, which is disgraceful to anyone who knows how oxtail is meant to be. One of the workers on the phone said they have had no complaints about their food and their portion sizes are a good size…. Well that was a lie. And when we called back again they stated they cannot do anything else. Poor food, poor customer service and shouldn’t even be rated a 1 as that’s being modest.
I LOVE the jollof rice with jerk chicken BUT If you're looking for authentic Caribbean food, this isn't the place. This is a place where Nigerians are making Caribbean food and it's just not working - the mac and cheese, curry goat and the oxtail are just not nice. Now, they're hardly ever open on JustEat and Deliveroo - what's going on?
1st time ordering and would tell everyone to AVOID! Ordered M50 platter my god...platter should be used lightly here! You pay £30 for 1 jerk chicken, 5 wings, rice, pasta, plantain and small pot coleslaw!!! Advertised as a platter so one would assume you get more than this plus no lamb chops! When speaking to the lady she was just rude and keep insisting that is how they serve platter and did not do anything to rectify instead kept going silent over the phone. Told me to take it up with Ubereats!!!! Wish we saw people reviews as we would have avoided this place!!! Misleading advertisement and poor customer service.
Ordered takeaway of M50 Mega Pack with Goat Curry, Jerk Chicken and Jollof rice, tasted amazing!!
I always order and collect so the food is fresh.
Rice and peas tasted like plain boiled rice with absolutely NO FLAVOUR. Curry goat waaaay too spicy, too chewy and definitely not tender enough. The jollof was sweaty. Idk what you lot are doing but you need to fix up. This is foul for your extortionate prices. £40 wasted. Staff over the phone have some attitude problems too. Should focus more on cooking food correctly than your ability to be a pr*ck over the phone.
I don’t really write reviews unless it was really bad. This place is hit and miss. Sometimes food is fresh sometimes chicken is so dry, can tell it’s been sat there for days. I didn’t write a review then. Portions are small compare to other places. So last night I fancied some Caribbean food so I ordered from here.while eating my food I bit into abit of glass while eating my jerk chicken with rice and peas..I was starving so I took it out and carried on eating then finding a bigger piece of glass! Had to throw it away. This is very unacceptable for a business. This is disappointing as I was looking forward to eating this meal! I thought I’ll give them a call to give them a heads up not to sell the same batch! But can’t even get through. Sorry but not ordering from here again! First time ever finding glass in my food!
Honest review
Owner was lovely and friendly, however the food was awful. This is not an authentic West Indian/Caribbean restaurant. I was so disappointed about everything! I had to throw the food away. Can’t believe I fed it to my husband.
The coleslaw - was clearly bought from tescos or the shop, it wasnt authentic sweet Caribbean coleslaw.
The curry goat - chewy, filled with cornstarch, large ginger pieces and excess curry and Tumeric
The oxtail - no taste, just excess maggi and browning. Absolutely disappointed
The rice and peas - absolutely no flavour
This food may be suitable for other cultures, but when you know how the food is suppose to taste and you want to take a night off cooking; it’s not the one.
