Ken is a very nice guy and does great work. He has a steady hand and gives honest old school haircuts and beard trims.
The shop is tidy and comfortable but the waiting area is simple. At a barber shop ???? you are going for a reason, not to hang out or have a beer, so that’s totally fine with me.
Walk-ins are welcome and that was a big selling point for me as I don’t really plan ahead when it comes to my hair etc. If I go to Walmart and I feel like getting a haircut, I want to be able to do so. ????♂️ I don’t want to deal with appointments.
Ken Hayes is phenomenal. Always greets you with a smile and does high quality work. I typically get a fade on the sides with a scissor cut up top and Ken knocks it out of the park. I really enjoy getting my haircut done here and highly recommend Ken for anyone looking for a top notch cut!
I was a walk-in and initially wanted Tessa to cut my hair. She was busy so Ken offered to do it. I gave him a pic of what I wanted and I’m happy to say that Ken did a good job.
Update > It’s now been three months since Ken cut my hair. Since Walmart is only a few doors down, I was thinking as I left yesterday that I should step in and tell him how pleased I still am with my cut, but I didn’t. Then as I was leaving Walmart, I saw him outside, so I rolled down my window to tell him. I might add that I’m as picky as can be when it comes to cutting my hair. I hadn’t allowed anyone to cut it in literally years. This is the moral of my story. . . if a ‘barber’ can cut your hair and blend the cut so well that it grows out so beautifully that it looks like you just stepped out of the most expensive salon. . . fear not to let this barber cut your hair. I have been coming to get my haircut here for a couple of months now. Ken is always friendly and gives the best haircuts. The prices are affordable. I make an appointment rather than walk-in. Ken always does a great job.

Having lived in New York, California, Charlotte and many places in between, I know how difficult it is to find a genuinely skilled hair stylist. This is especially true for someone like me, a senior citizen with a need for a personal touch beyond that available in most other establishments, especially "chain-store" facilities. In my almost two years living on Florida's "First Coast," Ken has repeatedly gotten the difficult job done for me, without fail, every time with a smile and encouraging word. Going here is always a great pleasure.
