Best barber ever. Great to talk with, great cuts. Every barber in there is rock solid - and the atmosphere is very positive vibes.
Sid did an all scissor cut on my husband and it his hair has never held this well for so long. It took longer than usual but definitely worth the effort and time.
I went in yesterday for a cut because I had allowed my hair to grow out for the first time in 3 years (I'm in the military and typically need it short). I was explicit in saying I wanted my hair long, and yet Sid was totally disrespectful of this. He used clippers and when asked why he had taken so much off said he "heard military" and just thought that was what I wanted. How about you just listen to what I ask for next time? He also ran scissors along my scalp and thinned my naturally thick hair, which I never asked for and have never had a barber do. Lastly, he ran his clippers down my collar and shaved my back hair into a ridiculous pattern without asking. The owner John was polite and gave me my money back when I called to complain, but I can say with certainty I WILL NOT be coming back.
Excellent barbershop! Everybody is personable. Sid went through different styles with me, it was like a personalized museum tour with the hair on my head. Great place.
I went to John's for the first time today. Nothing but good to say about the service from John and my haircut. Ample parking and very satisfied with the cut. Great conversation and nice atmosphere. It is nice to go to a barbershop that reminds of the way the experience used to be. I am definitely going to be a regular. Highly recommend John's. You will not be sorry.
If you're looking for a great barber and hair stylist, I highly recommend GARY at John's Barber Shop in Newtown. I've been going to Gary for many years and I'm very happy with his work. He has lots of experience, is very professional, and a great person overall!
Gary is a true professional with a lot of class. He does not only give exceptional hair cuts every time you go, but is great guy to talk to. High regards in every category, and highly recommended.
John's barber shop has always been my go to spot for a quality cut since I first stopped in about 5 years ago now, but most recently I had an experience with the store that propelled me to finally write a review.
I just got married Saturday, January 16th, and the day of, I had needed to get myself and some of my groomsmen a haircut. I arranged with a barber at the location to come in early the day of to get clean up's for 10$ a head, but unfortunately the day of, the barber had an unforeseen family emergency, making him unable to work.
I found out that morning when I called at 9 A.M. Sid, a fellow barber, was up to the challenge and on short notice. He had us in and out in just an hour and a half for 6 haircuts. The groomsmen, my father and myself looked clean and it was at a good price.
There really isn't a barber I wouldn't recommend at this location, so I would say if you're looking for a great barbershop to replace your current, don't look any further, just call ahead and make an appointment here.
