Excellent staff, service and food. Loved it.
Seafood platter was amazing and the choice of having 4 small puddings was great.
We just arrived at the Lake District and do great to start our first night here at Jackson’s …great food and service…the Cajun chicken pancake and beef Bourgogne plus the berry ronoff….great!
Lovely place, great food, set menu is cheap yet decent
We visited Jacksons Bistro last night with friends to dine whilst on a short weekend break, it has to be said we had an absolutely brilliant time, the staff and management here are true experts at providing customer service and a level of positive Interaction with customers that simply eludes most places. We were made very welcome and the staff had a good knowledge of how the various dishes were prepared and also what wines would compliment our meal. The menu was varied, I found the prices a little bit on the high side on some of the items on the A La Carte menu, however the fixed price menu made up for this with a great choice of similar dishes. For instance both menus had rib eye steak, so it was all good.
We had a lovely meal and great overall dining experience, I would definitely recommend this place to family and friends.
A big thanks to the staff who made our evening so good. Clearly they take Pride in what they do. 10/10
Always try and come here when in Bowness as the food is very good, and the staff/owners always go that extra mile with the service.
We booked in advance as you must !! and it was nice to see the same management team in place, and we settled downstairs ready to order.
I started with the crispy duck salad pictured, which was very tasty !! although, I could have had more duck in it ???? and possibly missed some spring onion but overall really nice. Wife had the Leek and Sweet Potato Soup which she said was delicious.
For my main I felt like a burger and went for the Cheeseburger with Lancashire Cheese. I must say the burger was superb with a fantastic flavour reminiscent of Wagyu Beef, and was accompanied by string fries which again were hot so for me a lovely main away from my normal choices.
My wife went for the Lamb Henry which was steaming hot but the veg/potato was ice cold and unfortunately we had to swap it. Pity, as it put our meal out of sync with our sons, but the management tried completely to correct the error and we all felt they achieved that objective which is a good sign of a good restaurant.
Desserts my wife went for the speciality Cheesecake and I went for the Sticky Toffee Pudding with the former being very tasty and lite with a strong biscuit base but the sponge on the STP tasted bitty and the sauce a bit burnt.
Overall 4 stars out of 5 which we have stretched to due to the management team who did really want to help in making it a special occasion and that's something you do not see a lot of in today's venues.
Thanks ... we will be back
Superb quality food. Great choice, friendly service and good, lively atmosphere. All three courses were excellent, hot, perfectly served and full of flavour. The cod loin starter was terrific. The staff were great. All in all, one of the best meals we've had in ages.
Wow, what a complete gem! Had our anniversary meal here, whilst stopping in Bowness. The service is great, but the food is utterly amazing!! The best steak I’ve ever had, and I’ve been to a lot of places. If you’re in Bowness, make a reservation at Jackson’s, you can thank me after!!
Really enjoyed our dinner here. Nice atmosphere and staff happy and helpful. Food is lovely, with a varied menu. Recommend booking to get a place.
