It was okay. The service itself was great, but all the rooms needed to be updated. The water was constantly leaking in the tube. We moved rooms, and it was better. Working TV and WiFi finally, and no leaking water. Still not serving breakfast. All in all it was okay.
We booked this hotel through a booking agent because it was the only one near Ripley that said they accept dogs and cats and we had one of each. When we arrived they told us they only accept animals in certain rooms and that's not what had been booked for us so our cat and dog had to stay in the truck all night. Disgusting room with wallpaper peeling off, stains on the carpet, and bugs. Hallway smelled disgusting, like smoke even though we were in a non-smoking part of the hotel. No pool, no breakfast, would never stay here again and would NOT recommend!
Smoke all down the hall and permeating everything even though it was a non-smoking room. Large cigarette burn hole in the bedspread. No breakfast even though it says so on the booking confirmation and the website. No coffee pot on in the morning, even. Would not stay here again. Sheets and bedding clean, but the air is full of smoke.
Staff was awesome! Could use the side door any time of day/night. Indoor pool was closed for maintenance and there was no breakfast eventhough the site said there was. Quiet and cozy tho with huge rooms. Be careful tho, in the dark, you can't see the ottoman to the glider rocker and will easily trip over it

Clean rooms. Comfortable bed. Friendly staff. They was working on putting on a new roof and they started banging abound 7:30 which worked out for us because we had been up but most of the time on vacation we are not up that early.
Very surprised at how enjoyable of a stay we had, and how well kept/clean the rooms were for the affordable rate! Very quiet and enjoyable, only complaint I had was that they called me at 10:30am, 30 minutes prior to checkout, to make sure I knew that I had only paid for one night and needed to check out.. odd, but I gave them a free pass, as it was Labor Day weekend lol. Overall, very nice atmosphere.

Tried to book again, they accused me of smoking in the room and ironically I was out of cigarettes and had to go without because of the holiday pushing my check back...
But whatever.. then she said the room was left a mess...
I SPOTLESSLY CLEANED THE ROOM BEFORE LEAVING!!!!!! They must've gotten me mixed up with someone else, but that's NOT MY FAULT!!! I WOULD NEVER ADVISE GOING HERE, WORST SERVICE I'VE EVER SEEN.
So I stopped in as I was walking past. Now my van was broken down with no gas and I had 5 or so more miles to walk still to get home. I was walking home when I decided to stop and let my family know where I'd been and I was okay. my cell was dead. ok but the woman at the front desk said no. Leaving me an exhausted and scarred woman to walk a very long dark stretch of highway bar myself late at night. My husband was out looking, but I walked all the way home. Before ever being found. Thank made home that night No Thanks to Hunter Lodge. I will never recommend this business nor will I stay in one of these chains myself.????????
