I'd give them 0 stars if I could. The whole EBT system is corrupt and needs invested. Nobody gives you a straight yes or no answer if you're application was accepted or denied. Every phone number they provide you on your paperwork doesn't work, and even if you call the head off they feed you the same limit take up to 30 days for your application to go through.
I've never left somewhere meant to help you, that left me feeling hopeless. I received no help. No offer of help, no suggestions on what to do except go home and call another number. No one wanted to answer the phone when I called, kept hanging up no voicemail or voicemail not setup. COVID has and is being used as an excuse to treat people poorly and get paid to do that. Hopefully they never need assistance of any kind, then they may feel how degrading you make others feel!!
Went with my granddaughter, after six weeks they haven't started her benefits yet and say that they're not sure why.
If you read Spanish you will be happy that every pamphlet on the rack is written in Spanish.
My daughter is constantly having issues with the employees at the one by the Mall in Fayetteville. She even took the paper work up to them they scanned it and she still did not get any help. How can a woman with 2 growing kids in school and the only income is disablity not qualify for help. She pays almost 900$ a month on just rent. The system is broken
Not crowded so it didn't take much time. Only complaint: they are located on the third floor, the elevators were out of service, so we had to take the stairs and I'm mobility impaired.
They never answer the phone. I applied for food stamps and privided them with every document they requested and i received a letter in the mail for it to say i did not provide enough information so they closed the case an denied me i finally got ahold of somebody was told that the case worker is working on it and to ignore that letter for nothing to happen so i called back 20 days later and they told me to reapply
Can Yall please pull your head out of your butt long enough to look at my dang proof of income. How is it everything else has been accepted but that is still pending. It's been over your 30 day dead line.
Literally NEVER answer the phone. I've called at least a dozen times a day for going on 2weeks now. And won't even let me leave a voicemail.

Quick Facts About Human Services Department

The Human Services Department faces several strengths and weaknesses based on the comments provided.
One strength is that the department is not crowded, allowing for quicker service and reduced wait times. This is a positive aspect for individuals seeking assistance as they can receive help in a timely manner. Additionally, some individuals appreciate the fact that the department has pamphlets written in Spanish, which shows inclusivity and consideration for the diverse population they serve.
Another strength is that some individuals have experienced success in their applications being accepted and receiving help from the department. This indicates that the department is effective in assisting those in need and fulfilling their mission of providing support to individuals and families.
On the other hand, there are numerous weaknesses identified by the comments. One major issue is the lack of communication and inefficient customer service. Many individuals mention that they struggle to contact the department via phone, as the phone numbers provided do not work or calls go unanswered. This lack of availability makes it difficult for people to inquire about their application status or seek assistance when needed.
Additionally, there are instances where individuals have provided all the necessary documentation but still received denials or requests for more information. This suggests that the department may have an ineffective application review process or a lack of clear guidelines for required documentation.
Another weakness mentioned is the significant delay in processing applications. Several comments indicate that it takes more than the stated 30-day period for applications to be processed, which can cause frustration and hardship for those in need of immediate assistance.
The accessibility of the department's physical location is also a weakness. One comment mentions that the department is located on the third floor, and if the elevators are out of service, individuals with mobility issues may face difficulties accessing the services. This highlights the importance of ensuring accessibility for all individuals, regardless of physical limitations.
Finally, there is a general sentiment among several commenters that the entire EBT system is corrupt. This undermines the public's trust in the department and suggests that there may be deeper issues of transparency and integrity within the system.
In conclusion, while there are some strengths identified, such as a quick service when there are fewer crowds and inclusivity through Spanish pamphlets, the Human Services Department faces significant weaknesses in communication, customer service, application review processes, and accessibility. These weaknesses hinder their ability to efficiently assist individuals in need and contribute to the public's negative perception of the department. Addressing these issues is crucial for improving the department's effectiveness and restoring trust in the services they provide.
