Dog friendly , food were good but a little small for what you pay for but never the less the quality of the food are good.
Coffee are on point too! Recommended going if you visiting Newport :)
Lovely little cafe facing the river Usk, little bit pricey.. but good quality food and drink.. nice view.. dog friendly ???? which makes it a great little pit stop whilst walking the dog down the river ????
I had a few falafel/vegan or vegetarian burgers and this one was on the bottom of my list. Those burgers can be tasty, unfortunately this wasn’t my favourite. I would suggest who prepare them to taste them. Or staff to get their opinion.
Chips were very nice. Friends chessboard looked very nice and they enjoyed it.
Staff was very nice and friendly.
Ps. We sat by the bar and I couldn’t notice that all the glasses hung above the bar had marks on them and looked dirty. I am not saying they are dirty , but they did not look clean.
Beautiful little cafe on the river. Gorgeous food. Great coffee. Service always come with a smile and they can't do enough for you. Extremely dog friendly as well so always stop in with our dogs.
Beautifully created indoor space with a very homey atmosphere and friendly attentive staff. Even tho it was busy during my visit, the staff stayed friendly and helpful throughout the entire visit.
Only went in for a quick coffee while waiting for Newport county ticket office to open nice coffee , friendly staff and nice atmosphere will go back soon to try some food for deffo
After a recommendation from one of our party, who ate there on the regular - we decided to pop in for a bite to eat and a drink.
One of the first tables in, going in minutes after they opened we were happy with the initial service. Orders were taken promptly, and told to pay upfront as they didn’t offer a tab.
30 minutes later, no sign of our drinks so one of our party went to ask our server - who was shocked and went to investigate. A further 10 minutes and No answer so we asked someone who seemed to be the manager who came over and explained the ticket had gone missing but they’ll get our drinks now.
After spending years in both hospitality management and running restaurants I understand these things happen so we waited. A further 20 minutes and still no sign.
At this point, with a young child we felt we had waited long enough so asked for a refund.
Food then came out (still no sign of our drinks) to which we explained we were getting a refund , but if they wanted to give them away to us we would take them away.
The manageress then came back over, with an attitude, stating that “the food is waiting for you now”.
We were then ushered towards the bar and left for a further 10 minutes with no explanation of the next steps.
The gent sorting the refunds was polite, friendly and apologised.
On departure, one of the party wished the manager a good day, which was ignored.
I understand it was very busy, but customer service is simple, and we would have been understanding.
Will not be returning again.
Delicious food, decent temperature on hot drinks and very fresh hot food. Varied and interesting menu, really appetising. However service was painfully slow, but food and drinks served were excellent quality, so would go bk again when less busy.
