Loved it. In and out, exactly what I wanted and an excellent price. As long as I'm in Ankeny I'm going to Goodwin's!!

Good guy who gives a good cut at a good price. I didn't realize it was cash/check only so I offered to leave my ID while I went to get cash. Instead of understandably being irritated, without hesitation he kindly told me he trusts me and not to worry about the ID. No guilt, no shame, no drama. He earned my business.

My husband just came home with his hair BUTCHERED by one of the barbers. His hair is unevenly cut with chunks of longer hair unblended into the shorter hair. Worst haircut he’s ever gotten. Said they didn’t even use a comb to cut the top of his hair. Just grabbed it with his fingers and cut. Will never return. They were also completely empty so there was NO reason for such a terrible job. Utter laziness.

Dude, GREAT HAIRCUT AND GREAT CONVERSATION. I have lived all over the planet and this dude is the best barber ever. LEGIT!!

I've been going to Goodwin's barber shop for 7 years or more and have always gotten excellent service, good haircuts, Walk in appointments, and reasonable prices. I would highly recommend Ryan if you're looking for a barber.

DO NOT GO HERE FOR BEARD TRIM!

I have never left a bad review on anything before and have been meaning to write this for over a month. Went in with my son for haircut and beard trim because everywhere else was booked. I have been growing my beard for about 7 months and told him I wanted to clean it up. He replied "ok so just clean up the stragglers?" I confirmed. He then proceeded to butcher my beard, and take it down almost to the skin. He knew I was not happy and didn't charge me for the beard. Once home, I got a better look and found that i had bald spots in multiple places, one side was about an inch longer than the other, and I was missing part of my sideburn on one side. I called him the next day that he was open to let him know how unhappy I was with his service. He immediately became beligerant. Yelling and swearing every other word. Telling me that he does a great job and that he has been doing this for 20 years, and to come on back in and we can "settle this". You would think that after 20 years you would know how to do a beard trim, but apparently not. I think it's time for this to be removed from his service menu. He is extremely rude, does not know what he is doing when it comes to beard trims, and is very unprofessional. The only good thing I can say is that my son didn't hate his haircut. I would give him zero stars if I could. Do yourself a favor and do not waste your money at this establishment.

Took my boyfriend in for a haircut and beard trim. It was the best he has ever had!!! The barber Mr. Goodwin is a super nice guy! Definitely recommend
