Quick Facts About Gold Star Nails

Gold Star Nails has several strengths based on the comments provided.
First, Mary, one of the nail technicians, is highly praised for her skill and humor. She is described as doing an outstanding job with a thin and natural application of a full set of nails. This indicates that she is talented and able to provide clients with high-quality results. Additionally, her comical attitude adds to the overall positive experience for customers, making the visit enjoyable.
The salon is also commended for its courtesy and efficiency. The manicure and pedicure provided are said to feel great, and the nail techs are gentle with clients who have previously damaged nails. This shows that the staff is attentive and considerate towards the individual needs of their clients, providing a comfortable and accommodating experience. The use of masks and the practice of social distancing during appointments further highlights their commitment to safety and hygiene.
Furthermore, Gold Star Nails is appreciated for its family-owned and operated nature. Customers describe the family as pleasant and caring, with the ability to provide top-notch service. This indicates that the atmosphere of the salon is welcoming and friendly, making clients feel valued and well taken care of. The fact that the comment refers to the salon as a favorite for the past 3 years suggests that Gold Star Nails has built a strong reputation and a loyal customer base.
In terms of weaknesses, there are a few concerns raised in the comments. One comment mentions Mary's bluntness and the need to either "go with it" or potentially get frustrated by it. This suggests that while some may appreciate her straightforwardness, others may find it off-putting and prefer a more tactful approach. It is important for the salon to consider the diverse preferences of their clients and ensure that the communication style of their staff aligns with those preferences.
Another comment raises a concern about Mary's unprofessional behavior. The customer describes Mary's aggression and how she was made to feel uncomfortable during the visit. This not only highlights a lack of professionalism but also indicates that Mary may have a negative attitude towards certain clients. To maintain a positive and inclusive environment, it is crucial for the salon management to address and rectify such behavior promptly.
Additionally, there is a comment expressing doubt about the legitimacy of the staff's licenses. While this may be an individual's perception or concern, it is imperative for a salon to clearly display licenses and certifications to instill trust and confidence in their customers. Gold Star Nails should ensure that all their staff members are duly licensed and that they have the necessary documentation readily available for clients to see.
In conclusion, Gold Star Nails has several strengths, including skilled and humorous nail technicians, courteous service, a family-owned atmosphere, and a commitment to safety and hygiene. However, it should address concerns regarding bluntness and unprofessional behavior from staff members, as well as ensure transparency regarding licenses and certifications. By taking these steps, Gold Star Nails can continue to build upon its positive reputation and provide an exceptional nail salon experience for its customers.

Mary is awesome, and so funny! She did a great job on a full set. Very thin and natural application.
Courteous and efficient. Manicure and pedicure felt great. Nails were damaged from a previous shop visit in Southfield at 12 mile and Evergreen Top Nail in February where the nail tech used gel and filed my nails to Hell. The nail tech at Gold Star who happened to be a male was so gentle knowing how sore my nails still were from a visit 3 months ago. I will definitely be going back. They were masks kept the clients socially distance and the service top notched.
I have been getting my nails at Gold Star since September of last year. My nail tech is Mary. She does an outstanding job. To ensure I get her every time, I call ahead and make an appointment. She has a very comical attitude. I say that to say to know her is to love her. You will not be disappointed when you go to Gold Star Nails.

Great Family. They aren’t racist as one said. Mary very blunt and you can either go with it or get frustrated. She is a busy businesswoman. She loves appointments. Nails done very well and not thick like I have had with acrylic.
Mary is very unprofessional. She got upset because I wanted a manicure with my shellac and she threw the dish up under her working station. I should have called the State and reported the incident for her aggressiveness. She is very nasty. If she doesn’t like you, she will not address you by your name-and she knows everyone’s name. She makes you feel completely uncomfortable. Then she talks about you. If you are a favorite, you get the best service. And does everyone working there have a license?
This family owned and operated establishment has been my favorite nail salon for the past 3 years. Mary and her family are all very pleasant every visit and take very good Care of my nails. Gold Star Nails is definitely worth the visit!
After reading the reviews, I decided to get my nails done for a wedding. The manager did my nails. I got gels with purple nail polish and sparkles. She did an amazing job. She had personality and spoke English and was super friendly. I'll definitely be back and pass this place to my friends.
Very nice people! Mary did a great job on my nails (shellac manicure) and her husband did a great job on my mom’s nails. Clean and pleasant atmosphere. Very affordable.
