First, it is under new ownership and the friendly ladies that previously worked there are gone. Second, one cashier seems dishonest: had a bad experience where the tall guy at the register wanted to charge 50% more than the shelf price. When I pointed this out, he immediately gave a different price, one that was still above the shelf price, and also overcharged on the tax. Had an attitude like he didn't care, not about either customers and not about the job either.
It's definitely not a new store if thats what your searching for because it's been there my entire life. What it is good for is keeping you from going all the way into Abita for the basics, if that makes a difference to you.
I wish there was 10 stars.. this place is fabulous. Best food you will ever eat. I'm not a fried chicken fan but I'll eat their chicken till it makes me sick... it's that good and OMG the mini crawfish pies are out of this world. And the prices on there food more than affordable. The nicest staff you will ever meet. I stop here everyday on my way to work and don't ever leave without something wonderful to take with me. I honestly can't say enough good things.
Love this place. The ladies that work here are the nicest people. I am not a fan of the fried chicken but everyone else says it's delicious.
The food is amazing! They have some of the best southern style lunches, breakfasts and sandwiches. Whether you try the ribs, red beans, or roast beef po-boy it's all delish!! Their hidden treasure for me is the deep fried hot pockets, my son loves them. The food is all reasonably priced but they're a little higher on dry goods since its the last stop before you enter the more rural country areas. The staff are always friendly. They know my name and my order or brand. They joke with my kids and pass messages to my dad for me. Definitely one of my favorite pit stops!!
We came in for dinner at 6:00 and there was nobody there to take our order. We waited around for about 10 minutes and still nobody.
I did see a girl in the dining area emoting coffee pots but no interest in helping us.
We left.
They have the dirty business practices. They having things ring up for a different price than what they read were you get them. I'm sure they get plenty of business because there ain't nothing else out there but they won't get no more from me.
Gas is expensive here they say..... well maybe you should be using the pump that says ethanol mix gas. They have the option of buying ethanol free gasoline here. All my small engines are happy that I have switched over. Maybe if everyone used non ethanol in their small engines then you wouldn't see so many blowers, mowers, chippers, and weedwackers on the curb for trash pickup all the time. Thanks for making it an option for the smart ones who care about the performance of their small engines.
