Best PlaceJuice Reviews

Wow. I was looking for somewhere to eat on the main street in Preston and noticed that down Guildhall street there was a place with a fancy sign....I walked up the steps and wow an amazing building first of all that has been refurbed and just like a high end hotel in the lakes or London. The decor and furnishings really stand out. The menu looked great and I wasn't disappointed with the friendly service and the tasty, freshly made, cooked to perfection food that was well presented and delicious. 10 out of 10 for me and a must place to go and have a drink or food in Preston.
Me and my girlfriend come here regularly and the food, the drinks, and the atmosphere is always amazing!
Highly recommend, exceptional value, and the service we receive is always brilliant!
Particularly recommend the steaks! Best steak I've ever had!
Make sure to try the cocktails too, they are unreal!!
This venue's nice, but hasn't really changed in years. Feels a bit like a gentleman's club with all the wood paneling. Attended an event on the top floor and the room there is a nice size - not too small so it doesn't feel cramped, while it's not so big that it feels empty. The canapes were amazing. Little beef Wellingtons, and portions or fish and chips, for instance.
Went on a Sunday afternoon for 2 Cocktails for £10. The building could arguably be the most stunning both externally and internally with key original features being left and highlighted. I have not been in on a Friday or Saturday night but the staff say the place is packed! The menu looks good as well so we will definitely be back!
This venue was The Place to come to in the early 2000's and it was rammed every Fri/Sat night.
Still a great venue but just not enough people go to it..Maybe better marketing would help.. Recently went to a Disco night and i think them charging £8 on the night was a shot in the foot for them.. If you want to get people back to this great venue, you cannot charge or at least that much..It was very very quiet needless to say..
Great food and cocktails, the building has been refreshed but still in tune with its originality. Been here many times and each time is a better experience! Music is always on point and the staff are always very polite and accommodating. Would recommend Fives to friends!
In my experience, the place was opened up for clubbing, didn't experience the catering. Understand it has two floors where you can dance, however they only opened one which got so hot it felt like a Turkish baths... Enjoyed my time there though.. Drinks are well cheap, bought two drinks with a tenner, nearly lost my eyesight with the amount of change he gave me in return...!!
Went on a Sunday for lunch, there were 25 people in so not busy yet my food took 45 minutes to arrive. My girlfriend got the roast which was fine other than the roast potatoes not being freshly cooked, I made the mistake of getting the burger and asking for it well done. When it arrived it was half the size of the bun and when I tried it it was completely flavourless and the fries were like slop as if they were microwaved. The chef had the waiting staff come out with some shoddy excuses but there aren't really any excuses for flavourless crappy food. We only had one drink order taken the entire hour we were there.

Quick Facts About Fives

Fives Place is a restaurant and bar located on Guildhall Street in Preston. Based on the comments provided, there are several strengths and weaknesses that can be identified.
One of the major strengths of Fives Place is its building and decor. Commenters consistently praise the building, stating that it has been refurbished to resemble a high-end hotel in the Lakes or London. The fancy sign and stunning exterior make a positive first impression on visitors. The interior decor and furnishings are also mentioned as standout features, adding to the overall ambiance of the venue. These elements contribute to a visually appealing and aesthetically pleasing atmosphere.
Another strength highlighted by commenters is the quality of the food and drinks. Multiple individuals mention the food being freshly made, cooked to perfection, and well-presented. One comment even describes the steaks as the best they have ever had. This positive feedback indicates that the culinary experience at Fives Place is a major draw for customers. The cocktails are also recommended, with commenters praising their taste and quality. The offering of 2 cocktails for £10 on Sundays is mentioned as a great value, attracting more customers.
The service provided by the staff is consistently praised as well. Commenters express their satisfaction with the friendly and accommodating service they have received. The staff is described as polite and professional, contributing to a positive overall experience for customers.
The venue's location on the main street in Preston is another strength. This makes it easily accessible and provides visibility to potential customers passing by. The exterior of the building, as well as the fancy sign, likely attract attention and entice people to enter.
However, there are also some weaknesses and areas for improvement mentioned in the comments. One commenter suggests that the venue hasn't really changed in years and feels a bit outdated, resembling a gentleman's club with its wood paneling. While this may contribute to a certain aesthetic charm, it could also be seen as a downside for those seeking a more modern and contemporary atmosphere.
Another weakness mentioned is the lack of marketing and lack of customers. Commenters note that while Fives Place used to be a popular venue in the early 2000s, it now struggles to attract enough people. The venue may benefit from better marketing strategies to increase its visibility and draw in more customers. One commenter specifically mentions the high cover charge for a disco night, which they believe hindered attendance. Lowering or eliminating cover charges for certain events may help attract more patrons.
There are also some negative comments regarding the service and food quality. One commenter mentions that their food took 45 minutes to arrive, despite the venue not being busy at the time. Another commenter expresses disappointment with the flavorless and poorly prepared burger they received, as well as the unsatisfactory fries. These comments indicate that there have been instances where the venue has fallen short in terms of food quality and service.
In conclusion, Fives Place has several strengths that make it an attractive venue for customers. The visually appealing building and decor, the high-quality food and drinks, and the friendly service are all mentioned as positive aspects. However, there are areas for improvement, such as updating the venue's interior to appeal to a more contemporary audience, implementing effective marketing strategies to increase customer numbers, and addressing issues with service and food quality. By addressing these weaknesses, Fives Place has the potential to further enhance its reputation and attract a larger customer base.
