Love how my braids looks! Only complaint is no set pricing I was told one price on the phone and luckily I asked for a text of the price because after I was done they gave me a price $40 more than what was quoted. I did not change my style. I still will go back
Though I was pleased with the look of my hair and the friendly environment, there were 3 things I was very dissatisfied with.
1) The feed-in braids were installed too tight. I contracted folliculitis and experienced hair loss. The hairdresser was aware she was braiding too tight but did not braid any looser. When she finished she stated, “I know they’re tight but just take some Tylenol.” I had a constant headache and had to take medicine for relief. I am hoping I haven’t suffered permanent damage to my scalp.
2) I made an appointment but did not get into the chair until an hour later.
3) When I entered the shop there was a strong aroma of feces.
Otherwise, the hairdresser was nice, and did a great job on the hairstyle.
After reading the reviews, I made an appointment to get hair fed cornrows... I sent the picture of the hairstyle to the stylist and she said that she could do it... my appointment was scheduled for 12 and she didn't get there until 12:35 after making a stop at McDonald's!!! She started to braid my hair and after the third cornrow, I decided to look at it... it was NOTHING like the picture... then she tells me that she couldn't do it like the picture... I had her take the cornrows out!!!! I will not spend my money there... I was furious... FYI. This review was posted a year ago.
It is a year later and I decided to give them another try. I am getting my hair braided Saturday and my view may change.... I will keep you all posted.
Well this experience was very different than the first time. This time, I was over joyed. My hair looked beautiful and it didn't take long either. I was satisfied with the service although the braids in the back started to come out within 2 weeks. I will give it a four star!
I will be going back.. NuNu was very professional and her work is amazing. I made an appointment for sunday. At first I was afraid that my hair may be too short to braid but she gripped it and slayed. Loving it and will be recommending for more clientele.
Horrible experience. Terrible customer services. They asked me to take my braids down on my own and 3 hours later they told me to go in the back and wash my own her. Once I asked where is the sink they said they don’t have one here. That they don’t wash hair there they do that down the street.
Update to AJA..... since that awful experience at your shop I have found a braiding shop that takes down my braids for me, washes my hair and styles my hair for a reasonable price. Plus every time I come I get a discount for being a returning customer.
5 stars because who can walk in at 5pm and get 2 girls hair done bt 9pm? My first time Id go back All the ladies braiding were professional. No BS tho. They cameras work!
My first time going to this braid shop today, I got Senegales twist and they are neat, flawless, and it she didn't braid too tight either. It only took the braider 5 hours or less to finish. Out of all the braid shops in the KC Metro area, this is hands down the best place to go, you will not be disappointed.
I was about 10 mins late. They still took me. I have a 1/2 Mohawk (just the top) i wanted toget my baids braided to one side because I don't like hair all over my head and I wanted color added as well. Well they didn't understand what I was looking for. So I had to get all black....whatever didn't really bother me.....with my hair braided to both sides. They where fast. They first told me three hours. It took a little less or just at 3 hours. My issue was that it wasn't what I wanted. I wanted blonde highlights (really wanted pink) and it braided to one sides. Over all i will be coming back. I will get box braids next time.
