Have just been to Drakes in Ripon and by god they have gone down hill recently, all young kids who could care on the service, especially the aggressively speaking lady.
Not only had the fish n chips been freezing cold, but to be charged FULL price for a not even quarter of a fish and especially one with no batter on, it looks like someone has chewed it and spat it out. Not only do you get pre-chewed fish with no batter and greeted with an aggressive server, you also don't get what you asked for, multiple time now I have asked for Chinese curry sauce and each time I get chipshop, why have it if you don't give it?? I have even clarified prior to leaving that it's Chinese to be told it is and by surprise when you get home it's magically changed to chipshop. I WILL not be going here again....
Good size portion of lovely fish and chips. It’s a busy place but we were served quickly and efficiently. Thanks
Excellent food cooked to order. Its dog friendly also that's why we went in as we're turned away at quite a few places. Could sit outside other places with the dog but it was poring down with rain. We will definitely be back.
Called just as they were about to close looking for something quick to eat after a long day. They happily put chips in to cook them for us and the were delicious. Well done guys and thank you
We go th Drakes when our caravan site opens for the summer. We always enjoy our fish and chips, but this year they were even better the fish was great ,and the batter was excellent
The four of us were very pleased with meal size and taste .we had senior fish chips good all round .
So I went this evening to the chippy, asked for a Fish and Chips and then I said can I have a large which is simple????♂️. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out I want a large fish and chips supper or does it?
The proprietor or one of them turned round and said “ large what?” ????I mean what is difficult with what I asked for. A large Fish and Chips, I clearly don’t understand what was difficult?
The individual in question clearly had a issue, attitude or a chip on his shoulder ???? as in the bald headed guy with the Ginger beard.
With regards to the Fish and Chip supper, can’t say anything bad about it and it definitely filled the hole.
All I am going to say certain individual needs to be a bit more customer oriented and customer sensitive otherwise needs to find a different professional.
Takeaway chips are so tasty! But Jesus your staff are insanely depressing! Every time I've visited the staff never crack a smile and aren't very friendly. Might start looking for another chippy
