Absolutely wonderful dining experience everytime we go there. Food is great, staff is great, prices are really good. The wait staff works really hard. They can be extremely busy at times, and they will do their best to take care of you. And....the steaks are actually cooked how you order them.
Food was hot and waitress was super friendly.
While traveling back home to Festus, Mo., from San Antonio, TX., we stopped at Don’s Steakhouse for lunch. What a pleasant surprise. Our food and service was great. The place was busy, but the server waisted no time in getting our food to us. The bathrooms were very clean. The entire staff was warm and friendly. The next time we are passing through Pocahontas, AR., we are definitely stopping at Don’s to eat!
Thanks to the entire staff for a delightful dining experience.
Don's is always reliable for good food! Friday and Saturday night is always busy, so you might want to expect a wait. Catfish, steaks, and great grilled chicken, good baked potatoes. Small salad bar and my favorite sweet tea in town. The staff is courteous and it is clean.
I get the grilled fish, baked potato & salad. It’s always good and the waitresses are sweet. My husband loves the fried catfish filets, French fries, hush puppies & Cole slaw. Prices are very reasonable.
Salad bar lacked options, no eggs, black olives, bacon bits, ham, and tomatoes were giant chunks. Like who puts pineapple on their salad over black olives, ham or egg? They brought out a box of bacon bits and then handed us a full cup as if we needed that much on our small side salads.
Ordered medium rare sirloin steaks that were served rare and cold. The food was absolutely terrible for being a steakhouse. I was so embarrassed to have recommended coming here that I didn't even say anything due to the party I was with. Normally i would complain to management.
But do not recommend it.
The texas toast however was probably the best toast i have ever had. The loaded baked potato was only loaded with butter and sour cream. I was expecting a fully loaded baked potato. Service was good for the town I guess. Either way service without the food will not keep guests coming back. Unfortunately for the people that live here, this is all they have.
If you're traveling through just keep on trucking. If you're a resident here travel somewhere else and experience a well-cooked meal in another town.
Gave this place 3 tries. Food was good but not great and it is expensive considering it's just ok. My wife and I can have much better food at Texas Roadhouse for less money. I can only guess the appeal of this place comes from being local and not having to drive into Jonesbor. We will choose the drive for better food and less money over slight convenience.
The food was great and the staff was very good I will eat here again when I'm in town. I would recommend this place to everyone.
