This is our regular chippy and it's always good value. The prices have recently risen slightly but I doubt you'll get more for your money at any chip shop anywhere else.
The fish are always cooked fresh, never left sitting under a heat lamp until a customer comes along. Good hearty chips and plenty of them too.
If you need any other hints it's a good place, at peak times there's always a queue but it's worth it
Beautiful MASSIVE fish. Was recommended this place after being disappointed at our usual place. Staff lovely and friendly, proper decent portion, cooked to perfection and their curry sauce doesn't have raisins in thank goodness! The fish didn't stick around long enough for a photo sorry. Beautiful.
Very good portion sizes and my children like the boxes for kids. Fish bites are really nice.
Thick batter and very stodgy. Happens most occasions I’ve been, so that will be the last time. When I phoned, I was asked to return it. Took a while to get an apology. The idea of getting back in the car to prove it is disappointing. I offered photos. Instead I’ll prove it on here!
Turns out the hollow offer to resolve it is in actual fact an invite to be rude to your face. Be warned, they want you to come back in with your entire meal. They’ll then argue with you and be even ruder. Shouting untruths to your face. Apparently You need to request that the batter be cooked. Staggering behaviour. Avoid at all costs. I’ve never had worse fish and chips, or experienced such appalling customer service.
Delicious fresh large cod with small chips (enough for two people!) Great value for money, probably the cheapest in the area!
Was doing a delivery today in the area of this shop stopped in before my 5+ hour drive home and I must say the man and lady behind the counter where lovely and the food amazing huge portion on the chips was well worth the money can not rate enough how tasty the chips where thank you so much if I’m in the area again will definitely go back
Was passing Winlaton yesterday lunchtime and called in here for a bite to eat, I noticed the lunchtime specials and ordered the kebab butty with chilli.
On opening I was amazed by the portion size and the look of the quality. I’ve never tasted chilli sauce like this from a chippy, they’re usually bland red gloop but this was something else! It looks like it contained freshly cut green chillis and tasted superb. The kebab meat and chips were also superb.
I’ll defiantly be trying with this again or the fish and chips the next time I pass after reading the other reviews.
Good value for money as portion size is good. Best day to visit is a Friday as fish is well drained before you get it. Other times fish is served straight from fryer so can be greasy when you get it home.
Update June 22..Prices have increased and portion size have reduced but still good value. Fish and Chips currently £7.60.
