I had a bad experience there and I will never go back again. The manager name is Marlene B. she changed my appointment time without calling me, so when I arrived Marlene B told me I have to wait for an hour. She said “I can give you one complimentary spa service or facial” Which I agreed for a facial. So I decided to wait for an hour. Julia is the esthetician there she told me she has a special microdermabrasion machine that will clean my face, Julia scrubbed the brush so hard I had so much bruises, redness on my face. She wasn’t pleasant at all.
Julia estheticians went way too deep after 24 hours my Whole face scabbed over 5 days later and people still think i was dragged on the ground on concrete. I will definitely won’t go back and I DON’T want the complimentary facial.
Got The Groupon for this place and I have to say I am not happy with the work that is done on my hair. Partial highlights ended up really partial which left me with no highlights on the place where I part my hair!!! Also, the highlights are half a inch starting from my roots. Will not be back. I thought that the whole purpose of Groupon is to for Hair salons to attract people with good work and great service, but most of them are going in opposite direction by trying to sell you more then what you already paid.
I called to reschedule an appointment and I have to say that I am extremely appalled by the way that I was treated by “Sarah”. Customers is how your business flourish and telling a customers “you are wasting my time” and “I have three other customers on hold” when I am trying to explain why I called in the first place and correct your assumptions, was utterly unnecessary. This would’ve been my first appointment at this hair salon, but I’m canceling. I’m sorry I didn’t get to see your artistry, Antony, but I highly value respect and professionalism. Going back to other great hair salons on the UWS!
Be careful with these people! No wonder their google review is not good! They may lie to you about their service prices over the phone! I found a discounted deal on Groupon for a haircut and blow dry. I have long hair (a bit above my waist) so I called them to ensure. I was told that they will charge $49 considering my hair length if I pay directly to them and not through Groupon. Went there yesterday for my appointment and they said they would charge me $95!! They said they did not understand that I have long hair (which is a lie)!!! Also they don't accept discounted deals (red prices) on Groupon at all!
Best hair salon in the city! Tried so many places in the past but since I found this hair salon I will never go elsewhere.
Catherine, my hairstylist is wonderful! She puts a lot of love into her work and does an incredible job.
Wesley was such a good hair stylist. He colored my hair perfectly and gave me great cut. He has 35 years of experience working in hair salons, on Broadway shows and films. Very pleasant experience!
I don't normally get massages and to get one at a beauty salon I was having some reservations , but they made you feel welcome and not awkward. The massage was amazing really got relaxed and would definitely come again. They also offer packages and member reduced prices, so if you really have bad muscle sores or lazy with stretching, might be a worth while investment.
Paid for balayage, got regular foil highlights, that honestly look terrible. Guy was nice, but... it looks bad.
Update: Changed 2 stars to 5. The conversation on the phone was frustrating because they tried to tell me that I must have requested foil highlights during a consult that didn't even happen. However, they did eventually offer a refund or a fix. I wanted the refund initially because I didn't want to see what the "fix" would look like. But they then said they would do it today, and I didn't want to walk around looking like that anymore so I went in for the fix. She really did an amazing job. It was hours and it all looked like chaos during the process, but I gotta give this girl major props, because she did a fantastic job.
