£24.40 for 2 milkshakes, a single scoop tub and a 3 scoop tub! No prices anywhere and bog standard ice cream. Never normally write bad reviews but this is extortionate pricing. Shame on you Antonio's.
ASK THE PRICE FIRST, BUYER BEWARE!
You need to win the jackpot on the Euromillions lottery to pay for the extortionate ice cream here and consider it not overpriced.
I went up to to Southport over the weekend, my young nephew & niece wanted an ice cream and I had promised them a small one each, I told them they could have 1scoop in a cone, the man in the shop asked would they like 3 small scoops instead, no problem all comes to the same? (Apparently not!) then the obligatory sprinkles, nuts & syrup, to which he shoves a flake in each after saying "Flake" and not waiting for reply then handed them over to the outstretched arms of the 5 & 7 year old kids, their mouths were upon them before his delayed words of £9-00 please!
I said NO WAY, he proceeded to explain loudly about.. chocolate dipped cone 3 flavours regardless of size and the extras. Lesson learned, as in all contracts, offer of goods for price and agreement to purchase, never again. Filming required as to practices going on and Facebook upload.
Next day we went to Rossies the road up to the Carrossel, fraction of the price.
Went to the kiosk near silcocks what an absolute rip off! No prices listed, expected to pay a little more than Normal with being near attractions but £8.50 for 2 Mr Whippys (which wasn't even the proper Mr Whippy) absolutely disgusting!
£4.50 for one ice cream this place is having a laugh. I handed the server the Ice Cream back and said I no longer want it. Disgusting
I would not even give this place a one start if I could . they con the general public everyday. people are shocked at the price of a small childs ice cream at £3.75. and I mean small. perhaps it was my fault for not asking the price first .but hope they go out of business . and the ones up Neville street on the left, (Rossi"s). who sell the same different flavoured ice creams for a £1 with a cone , and happy to put a bit of flavoured sauce on and suger bits with no extra charge , prosper and get the business that they deserve.
Avoid !!! Got charged £7.50 for 2 small quite tasteless ice creams. My wife asked for a price list, but was ignored as the assistant busily and urgently prepared the ices. Emailed Sefton Borough Council with my complaint, who responded with nil (and predictable) interest in dealing with this, even though I suggested there was no price list displayed. Counter assistant said, "We don't display our prices !" A couple with three demanding youngsters in tow, would get "cleaned out" before their day had even started. Southport, you should be ashamed that you have "THIS" on your doorstep - one branch on Lord Street and a stand in front of Southport Pier..A "well oiled" system on behalf of Antonio's Ice creams. Now passed onto Trading Standards - hopefully too many complaints for them to ignore......CAN YOU SEE A PRICE LIST ????
I wish I'd of looked here before ordering ice cream yesterday, the extortionate prices would be just if the ice cream didn't taste like it'd been made with eggs and milk that most definitely was going out of date, 3 of us ate ice cream, and 3 of us have upset stomachs, either it's the aforementioned or the standard of hygiene is poor, which probably is the case too, seeing as the server finds it acceptable to eat between serving, maybe I should of watched them first, that would of put me off too, serve, eat, serve, no washing of hands. Don't waste your money, time or toilet paper
Appalled. Never felt so robbed i was charged £4.50 for a basic ice cream and the 2 boys serving it shouted thanks for the tip. Mugging me right off. Will never come back. Disgusting. Robbing from customers who are there on holiday.

Quick Facts About Antonio's

Antonio's place has a number of strengths and weaknesses based on the comments provided. Starting with the weaknesses, one of the most prominent issues is the pricing. Multiple reviewers mentioned that the prices were not displayed anywhere, leading to surprise and shock when they received the bill. Some even go as far as calling the prices extortionate and overpriced. This lack of transparency and seemingly high prices for standard ice cream is a major weakness for Antonio's place.
Another weakness identified by the comments is the taste of the ice cream. One reviewer mentions that the ice cream tasted like it was made with ingredients that were going out of date and resulted in stomach issues for them and their companions. This is a major concern as it suggests poor quality control and potentially unsanitary practices in the preparation and storage of the ice cream. Additionally, a few comments mention that the ice cream tasted quite tasteless or not like the expected brand (e.g., not the proper Mr. Whippy).
Another weakness that is highlighted is the customer service experience. One reviewer mentions feeling conned and even goes as far as hoping that the business goes out of business. Others mention feeling ignored when asking for a price list or receiving rude behavior from the employees. This poor customer service experience and negative interactions with the staff are significant weaknesses for Antonio's place.
Moving on to the strengths, the only positive aspect mentioned in the comments is the presence of alternative ice cream options in the vicinity. One reviewer mentions going to another ice cream shop, Rossi's, where they found the same different flavored ice creams for £1 with a cone and additional toppings at no extra charge. This suggests that there are other, more affordable options available nearby.
In conclusion, Antonio's place has a number of weaknesses based on the comments provided. The lack of price transparency, seemingly high prices, poor taste of the ice cream, and negative customer service experiences all contribute to a negative perception of the establishment. The only strength mentioned in the comments is the presence of alternative, more affordable ice cream options in the area. Overall, Antonio's place receives negative feedback and may struggle to attract customers due to its perceived weaknesses.
