Best PlaceJuice Reviews

The blandest food I’ve ever had. The only thing that remotely had flavour was the prawn crackers. Waited all week for a takeaway, so disappointed.
Really disappointed, first time we have used this take away and will be the last, service was great, food was good until I found what appears to be a crane fly in my order.. phoned to complain to be told boss isn’t back until Tuesday so phone back. Such a shame!!.
Our new favourite Chinese takeaway, well worth the drive from Havant.
I was a bit gutted you don't deliver but soon got over it once we tasted how good your food is.
Parking is a bit of a pain during rush hour that's the only downside.
If you want tasty fresh food this is the place for you :)
Tried this place for the 1st time last night 11,3,22 and I have to say it's brilliant food was absolutely amazing big portions I will not go anywhere else in future 10/10
Foods great, like that you have an open kitchen to look into while you wait.
Little bit expensive.
Be carefull girl serving had zero control over customers wearing face masks, people in rhere not wearing a mask and others walking in without masks she nwver challenged them or asked for exemption badge.
Wont be going back
Excellent food always hot and tasty best chinese in area
We moved to Widley two years ago and didn't have much success finding a good takeaway. A neighbour recommended the Widley Cottage and we have had about 4 or 5 now. Great quality, reasonably priced and usually pretty quick if you phone first. Only accept cash. Food is 10/10.
Best Chinese takeaway near Waterlooville and we’ve tried them all

Quick Facts About Widley Cottage

Widley Cottage appears to have a mix of positive and negative comments from customers. In order to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of the place, we will analyze the comments and identify recurring themes.
Starting with the strengths, the most common positive aspect mentioned by customers is the quality of the food. Several comments mention that the food is amazing, hot, tasty, and fresh. One customer even gives it a 10/10 rating. This suggests that the chefs at Widley Cottage take care in preparing their dishes and prioritize taste and quality.
Another strength highlighted by customers is the service. Some comments mention that the service was great, indicating that the staff is friendly and attentive. One customer appreciated the open kitchen concept, where they could see the food being cooked while waiting. Additionally, it is mentioned that the food is usually quick if ordered over the phone, indicating efficient service.
Location is also mentioned as a strength. One customer mentions that Widley Cottage is their new favorite Chinese takeaway and it is worth the drive from Havant. This suggests that the location of the restaurant is convenient for some customers and that they are willing to travel for the quality of the food.
Moving on to the weaknesses, the most common criticism relates to the taste or lack of flavor in the food. One customer describes it as the "blandest food" they have ever had, and another mentions being disappointed with the taste. It is noted that the only item with flavor was the prawn crackers. This suggests that while the quality of the food may be good, the taste may be lacking or inconsistent.
Another weakness mentioned by a customer is the discovery of a crane fly in their order. This suggests a lapse in quality control and raises concerns about the cleanliness and hygiene of the restaurant. It is mentioned that the customer was unable to complain immediately and was told to call back later, suggesting a potential lack of responsiveness from management.
One comment mentions that the prices at Widley Cottage are a bit expensive. This suggests that the cost of the food may be higher compared to other Chinese takeaways in the area. However, it is not specified whether the higher prices are justified by the quality of the food or other factors.
Lastly, one comment mentions an issue with the enforcement of mask-wearing by staff. The customer notes that some customers were not wearing masks and the staff did not enforce the requirement or ask for exemption badges. This raises concerns about the safety measures in place at the restaurant and may be off-putting to customers who prioritize COVID-19 precautions.
In conclusion, Widley Cottage has strengths in terms of quality food, good service, and a location that attracts customers. However, weaknesses include inconsistent taste, concerns about quality control, potentially high prices, and inadequate enforcement of mask-wearing. These strengths and weaknesses should be taken into consideration when evaluating Widley Cottage as a Chinese takeaway option.
