With all the positive reviews, I had really high hopes to get my hair done here. When I made the appointment, I let them know I wanted someone who was advanced in blonde color. They reassured me this person was great and advanced. However, I’ve been getting my hair colored and highlighted for over 10 years, and have never had such a bad experience. As to not ruin this stylist’s reputation, I will not be making any names.
The stylist I had was very nice, and we discussed what I would like done. I had previous highlights that were pretty grown out, and wanted something that would blend my roots into the grown out highlights and wouldn’t require too much upkeep. The stylist suggested a shadow root to blend things in, and showed me a picture of what it would look like.
However, the finished product was not anywhere near what we had shown me. Instead of a blending my roots into the highlights, the stylist made my roots worse by dying my scalp a darker color (near my natural color, but a little darker), and did not blend it. This resulted in a straight line 2 inches down of brown hair from where my part is to where the highlights started. There was a clear straight line of color difference. I wasn’t sure how I felt about it in the salon, and went home to check it out in more natural lighting. That’s when I realized how bad it was. I showed my hair to multiple people who told me I needed to get it fixed as soon as possible.
After calling the salon, and being told I could have the original stylist fix it, which would be done with the help of another color specialist to ensure it was done correctly, I came back in.
When I got there, the original stylist was professional about the situation and tried to come up with ways we could solve the issue. However, there was no apology or accountability for the issue. The stylist was confused what the problem was, but after much back and forth, we came to a solution of adding highlights to break up the dark color and hopefully cover the stark line between the old highlights and the darker dye. I let the stylist know I was worried about the highlights looking streaky (90’s style), and they reassured me it wouldn’t be. There was no help from another stylist, which was a condition of going back to have this fixed when I called.
After highlighting, the stylist blow dried my hair on the top so I could see if I liked it. With it not being fully dry, I thought it looked better than the first time, but knew it still was not right. The highlights were very streaky, and the line between the dark and light hair was still there. It looked like I had done this at home with box dye. The stylist reassured me if something wasn’t right, they would fix it if I let them know. Because I was growing upset and did not trust the stylist’s work, I told them it was okay and decided I’d go elsewhere to fix the results.
I’m writing this review not to bash the salon, or the stylist, as they tried to be accommodating. I’m also not writing this to try and get a refund or have them fix my hair, as the damage is done. I’m writing this to warn others to be cautious in having your hair colored at this salon. I paid top prices for a horrible experience. I will now be going to another professional to pay more to have them fix the job that was done. I will never be coming back to this salon.

I have been going to the salon for the past year and a half or so and I’ve always gone to get a cut/style and eyebrow dye. Ella has been my go to each time, she is so professional, talented, and gives me exactly what I ask for along with giving me her professional advice and input. I feel like she is my biggest fan every time I go into the salon and she always makes me feel at my most beautiful! Ella is so kind and friendly, and makes me feel like I can relax and be at ease the entire time and I have been 100% pleased every time! Would highly recommend!
Carsen did an amazing job on my balayage and cut! It was years since I had been to see a stylist. I was so pleased with the results. As this was my first appointment with her, she really took the time to hear what I wanted, as you can see quite a transformation. I had every confidence that I would be happy with my new look. Carsen is so professional and knowledgeable in her craft. So blessed to have her as my new stylist. Bailey did great at the shampoo bowl, she is apprenticing under Carsen… lucky girl! She will learn a lot!
My appointment with Kayla was the absolute best! Let me tell you, the care and thought she put into my hair was magical. Not just the color (which was beautifully done), but sweet heavens, the scalp massage.
Goosebumps, people.
Kayla gave solid advice during our consult and asked thoughtful questions to ensure our visions aligned. I wish I could remember the assistant's name (sorry!), but she was awesome and took great care of me. For real, I left feeling pretty for the first time in ages, and my husband loved the new look. Rawr.

I’ll start off with WOW! Lyndsey was amazing she does several of my friends hair and I was in need of a new stylist. She did not disappoint!! From the walking in all the way to leaving my visit was phenomenal. The ladies at the front with an awesome tour of the salon to the complementary hand, neck and head massage before starting on my hair to the hot delicious aveda tea you can’t get a better salon!!

It was my first time coming to this salon, and I have to say it went amazing! The place was nice and clean, they had a great receptionist at front greeting with a smile on her face and so friendly! Kayla did my hair and I did only get a trim but I got a great hair lesson! Now I left with beautiful hair and great knowledge on how to take care of my hair better than I have been!! Amazing!! And the price was great as well!! Thank you Kayla you did wonderful!
This was my first time at Vanasons and I will definitely be back! Everyone was so nice and Kayla was terrific. She listened to what I wanted and was very considerate about how she cut my hair. She made suggestions but was careful to make sure that I was okay with anything she did. I loved the cut and she was so knowledgable on how to work with my hair. The entire experience was great!
