Best PlaceJuice Reviews
I've written reviews for Troutman before. Generally the food is good as well as the service. The booths have never been comfortable and are sized for small framed persons. Today the food was bland. Vegetable beef soup had no flavor whatsoever as did the cheeseburger. We asked for very well done fries, even said burn them, only to have the same not fully cooked in the middle with that just arriving at the beach color! Glad this not a regular place but only an occasional place for lunch
Wonderful family atmosphere. I've been coming here almost 50 years. Great food at reasonable prices. I always feel welcomed and look forward to my next meal.
Great food and amazing people. Loved the chopped pork and the best onion rings we have ever had. Most importantly we were both impressed and touched by our young waiter, Allen. He wasn't just nice to us but we observed Allen's kindness to several elderly customers. Allen sat with them, called them by name, and patiently took their orders and served them as he would his own grandparents. We were there with our 16 y.o. grandson and he even commented as how kind Allen was.
A good old establishment and mainstay in Concord NC. Their BBQ is Lexington style or Western NC but with their own sauces that you get a choice of. Slaw is the essential topping and side to a great BBQ sandwich and theirs is excellent. It is a traditional red style with cabbage, vinegar, tomato, and spices like you get in Lexington. The BBQ is lean with a few crunchy burnt ends. I thought a little sauce was just what it needed to moisten it up and make a yummy NC BBQ sandwich.
The food was really good and came out fast, the servers were great and very nice, and the price was very reasonable. The only bummer is they were out of a lot of the Thanksgiving specials, but that maaaaay have had something to do with us showing up about an hour before they closed...
This place is known for their BBQ, hence the name. But apparently they're known for their fish. Im picky about my fish. In face I quit eating flounder because everyone cooks it to death and it's all dried and curled up.
The flounder her was boneless, skinless and fried a beautiful golden color and was delicious. I was told they cook it to order so it fresh. I'll come back again for it.
All the food was over cooked. The servers weren’t friendly. We aren’t picky eaters, but we couldn’t even finish our meal. It was an overall terrible experience!!
Understand Troutmans is an authentic diner in a damn cool Southern town. The people are kind and real. My comfort food. Still Trouties, still good.
