Best PlaceJuice Reviews

Wunderbares kleines Café in absolut zentraler Lage. Sehr gemütlich, vor allem in der unteren Etage. Heimeilige Atmosphäre und tolle Kuchen. Immer einen gemütlichen Stop wert (witzige Toiletten übrigens).
Cute little cafe. Had the African wrap (i think it was called) had chicken, feta, avocado and other stuff in. Got lots of doritos on the side. The others in my group had date and walnut scones which they said were very good. Good location.
A lovely place to stop and have a brew and a cake
Came here with my wife to get out of the rain and was pleasantly surprised. I'm not normally a cafe goer but I really liked the quiet and relaxed vibe this place gave off. The staff are nice and pleasant and the prices are good. There is a surprising amount of choice on the menu from burritos to cakes.
I had the carrot cake (which was bloody delicious) and a pot of tea and my wife had an Iced tea and a fruit scone.
Would definitely recommend if you're looking for a quiet place to relax after a busy day shopping and sight seeing in york
Not great to be honest, sausage sandwich for £4.95 which I only ate the bread bun because the sausages were that bad! Tasted like cheap mush, my coffee also tasted like it had salt inside it.
The cafe itself was dirty & grubby. Not impressed waste of money.
Stopped here for a coffee and a sandwich, the wife had a ploughman's sandwich and I had a ham and tomato sandwich with two coffee's. £27 which is in my opinion ridiculous, the food was excellent but very very overpriced, great location friendly staff and an overall nice place ,but take a loan put before you pay.
Coffee was not the best.
Sausage sandwich was very poor. Overpriced. Cheap ingredients.
Scone was stodgy.
Staff friendly enough and cafe itself very nice.
Not the best experience, asked if there was a substitute for the bacon as partner is vegetarian and he said Ham?... Partner said doesn't matter and will give her partner. Food arrived and the sourdough was dry and hard when cutting through it. Bacon on partner's avocado on sourdough was replaced with tomato and pepper in a small pot. If you didn't understand the first time and tried to rectify by providing an alternative when the customer wasn't there, at least ask them first if substituting an item! Any breakfast item is supposed to come with a standard tea and coffee.. partner wasn't asked and so went without a drink. Won't be back.
Interesante lugar para una pausa y un café (o un dulce).
En el medio del centro , una vez que estás adentro no escuchas los ruidos de afuera!
Un poco complicado para entrar con el coche del bebé.

Quick Facts About The Newgate Coffee Bar

The Newgate Coffee Bar has a number of strengths that contribute to its positive reputation. One significant strength is its central location, which makes it easily accessible and convenient for customers. Being in the heart of the city center allows for easy access for those who are shopping or sightseeing in York. Additionally, customers appreciate the cozy atmosphere, particularly on the lower level of the café. This creates a homely and comfortable environment that adds to the overall experience.
Another strength of The Newgate Coffee Bar is the quality of its food and drinks. Customers have praised their cakes, particularly the carrot cake, and the date and walnut scones. The African wrap, which includes chicken, feta, avocado, and other ingredients, has also received positive feedback. Customers appreciate the variety of options available on the menu, ranging from burritos to cakes. The prices for the food and drinks are also perceived as reasonable, adding value for customers.
The staff at The Newgate Coffee Bar are often described as pleasant and friendly. This contributes to the positive experience and helps create a welcoming atmosphere for customers. The café is also appreciated for its quiet and relaxed vibe, allowing customers to unwind and enjoy their time there.
Despite these strengths, there are also some weaknesses that have been mentioned by customers. One common complaint is the high prices, with some customers feeling that the food and drinks are overpriced. This may deter budget-conscious customers or those who feel that the quality of the food does not justify the cost.
A few customers have also expressed disappointment with the quality of certain menu items. The sausage sandwich, in particular, received negative feedback for its taste and the quality of the sausages. There were also complaints about the coffee, with some customers describing it as having a salty taste. The scones were mentioned as being stodgy, which suggests that they were not freshly baked or of high quality.
Additionally, some customers have commented on the cleanliness of the café. While it is described as grubby and dirty by one customer, it is worth noting that this opinion is not shared by everyone. However, maintaining cleanliness is important for creating a positive dining experience and meeting hygiene standards.
In terms of customer service, there have been a few instances where customers felt let down. In one case, a customer had requested a substitution for bacon due to dietary restrictions, but the staff provided a different substitute without consulting the customer. This lack of communication and understanding may have left the customer dissatisfied with their experience.
In conclusion, The Newgate Coffee Bar has several strengths that contribute to its appeal, such as its central location, cozy atmosphere, and quality food and drinks. The staff are often described as friendly and the café offers a quiet and relaxed environment. However, there are some weaknesses to consider, such as high prices, inconsistent food quality, cleanliness concerns, and occasional lapses in customer service. Addressing these areas of improvement could help enhance the overall experience for customers at The Newgate Coffee Bar.
