We stopped here for lunch and the staff where all lovely. The food and drinks were yummy too. I had a Manchester bee hot chocolate and it was so nice!
Even better that the place is dog friendly too
A great place to sit and relax after a walk through the countryside.
The food was great, the staff were very helpful too.
Hot or cold weather there is something to suit. Tea, coffee and bacon sandwiches for the early morning walk (vegetarian options are also available). Ice-creams and shakes now the summer has made an appearance. Biscuits, cakes and other snacks at any time. Great to see them open after the tough year.
New exterior canopy and outdoor seating a great addition shelter from rain or sun to suit
Superb ambience, very clean and great customer service be that in or outside . Hot chocolate and Xmas cake were spot on . Highly recommend
Great place. Warm and inviting. Friendly staff and a nice atmosphere. Dogs are very welcome
They even have a stand where you can buy treats .
Horrible experience, myself and my daughter were made to feel extremely unwelcome. Staff reluctant to find us a table as there were only two of us and the only tables they had seated 4 or more. When eventually we were seated (and by that I mean reluctantly asked to perch on the end of the largest table they had?!), we were then approached by who I think was the owner, in a very rude unfriendly manner, asking if someone (a member of her staff) had seated us there. Insinuating by her tone of voice that we had chosen the table ourselves and she was not happy about it as we had taken up 'valuable space'. When I informed her that we had indeed been seated there by a member of her staff, she was clearly annoyed and then proceeded to ask me to remove my daughter's small stroller pram and leave it outside. We are nice people and I have never been made to feel so unwelcome. Seems to be plenty of nice treatment for dogs, but not a mother and her very well behaved little girl. Isn't this meant to be a community cafe, where everyone is welcome? Certainly doesn't feel that way! Will absolutely not be returning and neither will the rest of my family, who on hearing about this were utterly horrified.
Went for our breakfast today first time, this place is amazing, eggs on toast was spot on, beans on toast perfect nice big pot of tea. Lovely and cosy and dog friendly. Blankets and water supplied for dogs and a lovely open fire.
Lovely cafe in amazing surroundings! Dog friendly and provide dog water and biscuits. Toilets clean, tidy and well equipped. The cafe itself is only small and a little cramped. It was almost full when we arrived and once we were seated the people sat in the corner had to squeeze between my son and the person sat at the table at the side of us. Several times during our meal people were having to squeeze between my son and another diner. Not pleasant for either of them.
Drinks were delivered some time before our food. We ordered a pot of tea for two and it arrived with a very small jug of milk. We had to ask a few times for more milk.
I ordered a tuna melt panini that was served with 'salad' (consisted of a few leaves and some red onion) but when the waitress served it she only gave me a knife - no fork. Had to ask her for a fork. When food is brought to table the waiter/ess then asks if you would like sauce. Our waitress ended up going back and forth several times before we could start to eat. Mayonnaise was served in a tiny pot, (could have used at least 2) brown sauce was a squeezy bottle. Service was disorganised. The food itself was very nice but not the cheapest.
When we had finished eating my son was returing our plates, cups etc as we always do when we eat out and a waiter said to him a little abruptly "you can leave those".

Quick Facts About The Lamppost - Burrs Country Park

The Lamppost - Burrs Country Park has several strengths based on the comments provided. Firstly, the staff are consistently praised for their friendliness and helpfulness. This creates a welcoming atmosphere and enhances the overall customer experience. Additionally, the food and drinks are described as yummy and great, indicating a high level of quality. The Manchester bee hot chocolate is specifically highlighted as being delicious.
Another strength is that the cafe is dog-friendly. This is appreciated by customers who want to bring their furry friends along and adds to the inclusive and community-oriented nature of the establishment. The availability of treats and water for dogs further demonstrates their commitment to accommodating all customers. The provision of blankets for dogs also adds a thoughtful touch.
The location of The Lamppost - Burrs Country Park is viewed as a positive aspect, with customers mentioning it as a great place to relax after a walk through the countryside. The surrounding natural beauty enhances the overall experience and adds to the appeal of the cafe. The recent addition of an exterior canopy and outdoor seating is also mentioned as a great addition, providing shelter from both rain and sun, making it suitable for all types of weather.
The ambience of the cafe is described as superb, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The cleanliness of the venue is also noted, which adds to the overall positive experience. The customer service is highly praised, both inside and outside the cafe.
However, there are weaknesses mentioned in the comments that the management should address. One customer had a negative experience, feeling extremely unwelcome and uncomfortable. They were made to feel as though they were an inconvenience, and the staff's attitude was described as rude and unfriendly. The issue of seating was also raised, with the customer feeling that they were being treated differently than dog owners. This indicates a lack of consistency in the customer service and a potential bias towards dog owners.
Another weakness mentioned is that the cafe is described as small and cramped. This can result in a lack of space for customers to comfortably move around, leading to inconvenience and discomfort, as mentioned by a customer who experienced people having to squeeze past their table. The delay in the delivery of drinks and the need to repeatedly ask for more milk demonstrates disorganized service and a lack of attention to detail.
The food, while described as very nice, is also mentioned as not being the cheapest option. This may deter potential customers who are looking for more affordable dining options.
In conclusion, The Lamppost - Burrs Country Park has several strengths, including friendly staff, yummy food and drinks, dog-friendly policies, a great location, superb ambience, and cleanliness. However, there are weaknesses that need to be addressed, including inconsistent customer service, cramped space, disorganized service, and slightly higher prices. By addressing these weaknesses, the cafe can further enhance the overall customer experience and attract a wider range of customers.
