Quick Facts About The Enchanted Wood

The Enchanted Wood cafe has received a mix of positive and negative comments. In order to provide an analysis of its strengths and weaknesses, we will examine the mentioned experiences and evaluate the cafe based on various factors such as atmosphere, service, pricing, food quality, and cleanliness.
One of the strengths highlighted by the comments is the friendly and attentive staff. Visitors have praised the politeness of the staff and their willingness to accommodate requests, such as closing the staff room door. This demonstrates excellent customer service, which contributes to the welcoming atmosphere and makes patrons feel valued. Moreover, it is mentioned that the service is always accompanied by a smile, further enhancing the positive experience for customers.
Another strength mentioned by reviewers is the affordable pricing in comparison to neighboring cafes. The comment specifically states that the prices of food and drinks are lower than some cafes in the surrounding areas. This can be seen as a competitive advantage, attracting customers who are conscious of their budget. Furthermore, it is noted that the portion sizes are generous, ensuring that customers leave the cafe feeling satisfied.
The overall atmosphere of The Enchanted Wood is described as lovely and warm. Visitors appreciate the decor and the cozy ambiance of the cafe. This contributes to a pleasant dining experience, creating an environment where customers can relax and enjoy their meal. It is also mentioned that the cafe is a Brighouse institution, suggesting that it has a loyal customer base and a reputation as a popular establishment.
On the other hand, there are some weaknesses that have been identified in the comments. One of these weaknesses is the perception of high food prices by some customers. While one comment praises the affordability of the cafe, another criticizes the high cost of a small coffee. The perception of high prices might deter some potential customers who are looking for more affordable options.
The cleanliness of the cafe is another concern raised in the comments. While one visitor mentions that the cafe is cleaner and more open than before, another suggests that improvements could be made, such as removing an old tree. This indicates that although efforts have been made to improve cleanliness, there is still room for further improvements.
The quality of the food also receives mixed reviews. Positive comments mention excellent cheese on toast, great coffee, and a lovely selection of homemade cakes. These comments suggest that the cafe offers tasty and appealing options for customers. However, there are negative comments that criticize the quality of the food, with descriptions of small, hard jacket potatoes, withering salad, and tasteless burgers and chips.
Another weakness pointed out by a reviewer is the lack of a kids' breakfast option. This might be a disadvantage for families with young children who are looking for specific menu choices tailored to their needs.
In terms of the overall dining experience, some comments express dissatisfaction with the atmosphere of the cafe since it came under the management of the garden center. The previously described lovely and warm atmosphere seemed to have changed, leading to a perception of a dreary environment. This could be a significant weakness, as the ambiance of a cafe plays an important role in attracting and retaining customers.
In conclusion, The Enchanted Wood cafe has strengths in its friendly staff, affordable pricing, and welcoming atmosphere. These factors contribute to a positive dining experience for many customers. However, there are weaknesses in terms of cleanliness, perceived high food prices, and potentially lower food quality. These weaknesses can impact the overall satisfaction of customers and may need to be addressed by the management of the cafe.

Best PlaceJuice Reviews

What a lovely treat to visit a wonderful little cafe after a trip around an equally lovely and very friendly garden centre.
The cafe is full of warmth and I love the new decor, the staff are friendly.
I’ve seen other negative reviews and I completely disagree.
I also sometimes sit in the back room, I politely asked one of the staff to close the staff room door and it’s closed immediately without fuss. The staff can’t do enough for you, politeness goes a long way in my eyes!
The prices of food and drinks are actually less than some of the comparable cafes situated in both Brighouse and Hipperholme. The food is always really good and piping hot (unless you’re having a cold meal), there’s always plenty on your plate and service is always with a smile!
It has such a lovely atmosphere and I’m always made to feel welcome on each and every visit. I always go home full and happy.
Well done to you all and keep doing what you’re doing ????
This cafe has really gone downhill. Food prices have got very high. £2.50 for a small coffee is just silly. Sometimes the cafe is very cold and the heaters are not on. In the back room the doors to rooms where the freezers are often are left open - I have just had a meal looking at a mop and bucket in the freezer room with its door open. I tried to shut the door myself; I know why it's always open the catch does not hold the door closed so it just flies open when somebody's been in there. Staff are certainly not as friendly as the used to be. There always seems to be a new person learning the job there. They don't listen to you when you make an order so they often get it wrong. Last time we went they got four things that we asked for wrong. The food, when you eventually get it it, is very nice but the atmosphere has gone downhill since the garden centre took over the cafe once more. Yes the carpet has been cleaned or replaced but the whole atmosphere is dreary. It used to be a nice place to sit down and enjoy your meal and I wonder now whether it's at all worth going. I used to go regularly and have meals there but really now can't afford it and I don't have to put up with the staff not listening when I order things. This is not a grudge review it is an honest review from a person who wishes that this cafe was like it used to be before the garden centre took over running it. They management of the garden centre need to put a lot of effort into making this cafe like it used to be.
I found it very expensive for what we got
No kids breakfast option.. Instead just a 'pick 4 items for £4.99'. I spent £18 on a breakfast for myself and my 4 year old and a drink each. Much cheaper options available so while it's a lovely place I probably won't visit again
Called today with lunch with Friends. Had cheese on toast with some extra bacon which was excellent. Great coffee and polite attentive Staff. Well worth a visit. Lovely selection of homemade cakes as well.
Nice lunch with friendly staff, we went to the back with kids to avoid antagonising rather genteel looking older people, it was a bit draughty but nice.
Generous baked potatoes and quiche, basic fayre done well.
Lovely place at a Brighouse institution.
Really nice food and beverages (great cakes and pastries).
Although this cafe is so much cleaner and more open than it used to be ,I feel they could go the whole way and rrove the tree as it looks dated and old , saying that the cakes and coffee where lovely but the food a little pricy but would go again for the cakes good disabled access but no dogs ????
Went with my hubby for lunch and it was the worst meal we’ve ever had. I got a jacket potato which was tiny and hard and the salad with it was brown and withering. My hubby had a burger and chips that cost £10 and he said it was almost cold and tasteless. The coffee was nice but I will definitely never eat here again and the prices are way too high for the quality of the food they deliver. Drive into Brighouse if you want a better eating experience.
