Visited this place for Sunday lunch with my partner while on holiday in June.
We booked a table as previously advised to do so. Our table was situated in the cosy dining area.
Roast Beef was tender, selection of vegetables and potatoes.
All food was homemade, hot, delicious and substantial. They had even warmed the plates! Lovely friendly staff who gave table service and the prices were decent too.
The only thing could be improved were desserts were yummy but, they were warm rather than hot.
Thankyou for a lovely time and we will certainly return again :)
A brilliant traditional pub I wish all pubs would keep the same theme going instead of going with the times and modernising. We need to remember the past. Great pub great staff and very friendly regulars.
The Guinness tasted amazing, so smooth. One of the best ever.
Great local pub, nice to see original features, would highly recommend.
Not a huge selection of beers away from thier own 3 pub brews no premium larger, or IPA etc.
English food nice enough but not outstanding the curry was not so good served with more salad than curry. Food only served to 7:30pm on a Saturday if you haven't book don't bother loads of people turned away while we were there.
Had a lovely Sunday Roast at the Countryman, I was especially impressed with the tasting board of ales brewed on site. Staff were very friendly and attentive and everything was very reasonably priced.

Just popped in for dinner, well so glad we did it was outstanding, fresh, hot & good amount I had steak, hubby had gammon, staff lovely, very clean, we will go back definitely again. Well done ????????????
Lovely food, great choice, friendly staff. Meant a little drive for us but this was a relief to find, away from all the fried food shops with nothing but chips in the area we were staying. We returned on several occasions and would recommend The Countryman Parking available.
