Best PlaceJuice Reviews

A fab locals pub at good prices but it isn't catered for tourists. It looks very old fashioned, the paint is peeling and the toilets were up kept. It needs a bit of love. But a great cheaper locals pub if that's what you're looking for!
made to wait 45 mins to check in
they dont do food any more so ignore most of the other profile pictures
then presented with a tiny room, nothing like the photos online, and the bathroom was disgusting. absolutely filthy!
the bed springs kept me awake most of the night
told they were fully booked but there was no one else at breakfast and no one else moved past my door at any point from 4am onwards.
Great cosy setting. Been a few times now and had roasts and pizzas, all very tasty and nice food. Staff are friendly and polite. My children played darts and pool the staff were very accommodating. Have been back a few times now and will continue to return.
Something of a disappointment. The rooms are over the back of the pub so noise not an issue. However the pervading damp building whiff was. Overuse of air freshener. Rooms need a rethink and upgrade.
No food available despite arriving at 7.15pm. Suggestion of local chippy given.
Bed comfy and clean but quilt very thin so i was cold. Plenty of towels.
Breakfast served in the bar. Full breakfast .. no option.
Sadly not much choice on places to stay in Bollington. The pub was a bit shabby in decor with very aged bathroom. The shower has a lot of mould but otherwise reasonably clean.
Breakfasts were good but you need to tell the manager the night before what you want otherwise you get presented with a large plate of food.
Had to ask the manager to turn down the music after midnight which he did. That's the downside of staying over a pub.
We stayed the night due to having no electricity at home because of the storm, the owners couldn’t have been any nicer, got us in at short notice and reserved us a table for food, the food was amazing my fish burger was out of this world. Such a lovely pub really welcoming and friendly, will definitely be going back.
Food was really good. The home made chips were perfect.
Beer was really nice and well kept.
Staff fantastic and friendly.
Wife happy as they do custard with the sticky toffee pudding.
Recommended.
Thanks.
Just what you expect from a good British pub. Nice staff, good range of drinks, lots of classic food on the menu and great desserts! But for me the pleasant surprise was the quality of the pizzas. They were much better than every Italian restaurant back in my local town (even those owned by Italians dare I say!) - and I absolutely loved the Billy Goat pizza, it’s such a great combo for a veggie pizza as it’s much more interesting than the standard grilled vegetable options other places do.

Quick Facts About The Church House Inn

The Church House Inn has both strengths and weaknesses based on the comments provided. In terms of strengths, it is described as a fab locals pub with good prices. The fact that it is a cheaper locals pub makes it an attractive option for those looking for affordable drinks. The staff are also mentioned as friendly and accommodating, with the children being allowed to play darts and pool. Additionally, the food is praised as tasty, with positive remarks about the roasts, pizzas, and homemade chips. The beer is also described as being well kept and of good quality.
However, there are several weaknesses highlighted by the comments. The pub is said to not be catered for tourists, which may be a drawback for those expecting a more tourist-oriented experience. The appearance of the pub is also mentioned, with comments about it looking very old fashioned, the paint peeling, and the toilets being poorly maintained. This indicates a lack of attention to the upkeep and maintenance of the establishment, which is seen as needing "a bit of love."
In terms of accommodation, there are mixed reviews. One comment mentions being made to wait 45 minutes to check in, which suggests a potential issue with the efficiency of the staff. Another comment mentions being presented with a tiny room that did not match the photos online, and a disgustingly filthy bathroom. The bed is also described as having uncomfortable springs that kept the guest awake. On the other hand, one comment mentions the rooms being located over the back of the pub, which reduces noise as an issue. The cleanliness of the rooms is also described as reasonably clean, although there are mentions of dampness and a pervasive smell in the building.
Regarding breakfast, one comment mentions a lack of options, with only a full breakfast being available. Another comment advises notifying the manager the night before to get the desired breakfast options. This indicates a potential lack of flexibility or choice when it comes to the morning meal.
There are also mentions of the pub's response to noise complaints. One comment mentions having to ask the manager to turn down the music after midnight, which highlights the downside of staying over a pub. This indicates a potential lack of consideration for guests' need for a peaceful environment.
Overall, The Church House Inn has its strengths in terms of being a friendly locals pub with good prices and tasty food. However, there are several weaknesses related to the pub's appearance, lack of attention to maintenance, mixed reviews about the accommodation, limited breakfast options, and potential noise issues. These weaknesses suggest that improvements are needed in order to provide a more enjoyable experience for guests.
