Great location, attentive staff but unfortunately the food is dire. King prawn starter in a gelatinous sauce, including one still containing the “poop chute”, the most overcooked lamb chops I have ever had the misfortune to encounter and very doughy batter on the fish main course, along with undercooked chips. The food came out way too quickly to have been freshly prepared. This is precisely why you should avoid establishments with large menus… However we will happily return for drinks overlooking the river
Really enjoyed our meal here. Table service is in operation and in addition to the menu is the specials board. Large portions and friendly, helpful staff. As vegetarians, the only gripe is that there are no 'V's on the menu showing veggie meals. There were 'VE's for Vegans and GF for gluten free options. I asked so it wasn't a problem. Definitely visiting again.
Lovely family get together. Staff were very friendly and the service was good. We had 4 young boys with us, ranging from 8 months to 5 years. Made us welcome and the children were able to move around as the restaurant was not crowded.
There was a good choice of well cooked food , very good sized portions. Hoping to go again soon
Great service. Tasty food and huge menu. Warm and clean. Great example of traditional pub. Clean toilets. Nice walks around.
Would highly recommend The Bridge House, the warm friendly welcome when we walked through the door just set the whole experience. The food was phenomenal portions were generous all the staff were fantastic. Will definitely be back to work our way through the menu..
Outstanding starter for me was the meatballs....
Just want to thank the staff at Bridge House for a lovely, delicious Mothers Day meal. We had so much trouble booking locally so were very relieved to get a table at the Bridge House.
The staff were excellent, attentive and polite, I have no problem recommending this venue and hope to return again...
For reference we booked at 12 30 under the name Lockwood.
After looking about for somewhere to eat found this little pub by the river that looked nice with great view upon entering was greeted with not so freindly stare and had to ask to be seated to only then be rushed into ordering drinks after ordering drinks and opening the menu to see it was all seafood, pasta and salad at £20 plus a meal when we popped in to grab a small pub meal so after the lemonade was dumped on the table we finished our drinks and left noticing on the way out there is a pub menu aswell as the restaurant menu they force on us. Can't say what the foods like as decided not to eat there in the end due to rudeness of staff and paying £7.80 for 2 glass of lemonade that was dirty and slammed on table. Looked a lovely place to eat but staff and atmosphere let it down with building almost empty and staff rushing your service. Serving needs to improve dramatically learning patience and manors.
Lovely place. Hadn't been in here for years. My only gripe was the too over attentive staff who must have approached our table more than 10 times, and literally took our glasses/plates/coffee cups etc before we had put them down and finished with them.
